Re: Ask the [Dev]'s a (?)

I would really love to see a Hind, I wanted that for my Grozny map, when I realised that there was no Hind I stopped it, it was going bad anyway
I find this comment a bit wierd, since only recently was a big ol' map test for outlawz's new map, you can see a bunch of things in the DEV blogs too. The french faction has several (now) team members working on it, and you get some nice pictures from them occasionally. Ranky gave a update on his 4k Afghan map a month ago etc etc, alot of the projects in the blogs are ongoing afaik.Navo wrote:Maybe actually showing what they they are working on would give them some more donations. Right now the community has no indication the Dev's are actually working.
All Donations as far as I'm aware go fully towards server costs which run the site and other servers we use to do our work and is only handled by a/the Red tags.Beee8190 wrote:Next thing I thought about;
Even though I believe the donations doesn't really affect you guys directly, I can't help but feel pretty bad when there are months that not even 1/3th of donations are met, yet your workflow hardly changes, you keep developing, programing, modeling after your IIRL duty, again for free to give us, players the best mod I've ever came across. And I mean both BR-BF2 and PR-A2.
I guess what I wanna ask here is, do you feel under-apprechiated when some 500-600 players daily, visit these forums but anyone barely leave any donation?
And my next - what or when you've been the most proud/happy about something you've created, modeled, scripted etc... that was included ingame and brought the positive feedback / gameplay you'd hoped for?
Cheers again![]()
We also use to do media updates every few weeks which is something we have lost since the inclusion of the Highlight/Blog systems which IMO is quite a big shame as only our active forum members view them, where normal players etc normally miss them.Navo wrote:I am not accusing the developers and contributors of not working hard enough.
I see your point on the map test, and the updates on the French faction, but what do we get apart from that? Some tiny sneak peaks in a blog update. We won't see anything until a release gets close.
Now compare this to FH2. They release media updates almost weekly, and those updates consist out of good looking renders and screenshots.
While I agree it's good to keep people up to date on what we are working on, understand that it's not something developers are required to do. We don't owe you any information apart from anything we have promised to provide (which is why we're careful with promises like release dates etc, because as a mod team working in our spare time we usually can't guarantee anything).fredo456 wrote:This general lack of communication reminds me that the PR:V developer never communicate anything about his mod, I know he is working on PR:V and on PR:ArmA II but down the PR:V forum we have to supplicate him for having one miserable screenshoot, and when he accept he comments his link with "You don't miss anything" etc... Recently he did a little video of him wondering around the training airport where all the vehicules are, there is a huge bunch of new vehicules that we never saw before, new weapons etc, the only new from at least 6 mounths!
Someone said after his post that the players were not informed enough, the Dev locked the thread afterward, I found that quite rude from a Dev to minimize his work to nothing and to not inform the PR community as the other Dev's do. It was my opinion, quite "radical" I admit.
Can you not re-post highlights before new releases?[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:We also use to do media updates every few weeks which is something we have lost since the inclusion of the Highlight/Blog systems which IMO is quite a big shame as only our active forum members view them, where normal players etc normally miss them.
If its something you want back as players I suggest you start some kind of partition or something for it as otherwise no one will listen
Although the problem is partly due to some much stuff going out in highlight/blog forum, even if only a tiny sneak peak there isn't much to show after that so if this happened, it would most likely mean very few to no highlight/blog posts![]()
Anyone can post them.killonsight95 wrote:lol at the tags xD
who is responsible for the tags?
that's my Q
Well we did somewhat try the "Highlight reel" method, of basically grouping up what highlights/blogs had been posted over the past few weeks and making them into a news post, but people didn't really want to see stuff they had already seen and it simply wasn't very good, not to mention no real motivation among any of the devs to make "old news".ShockUnitBlack wrote:Can you not re-post highlights before new releases?
I do, admittedly, like FH2 and its steady flow of updates.
Nope.Shovel wrote:Anyone can post them.
Also, will there be a CH-53E in the next release?
Because in Haute's post there was something starting in CH-
Fair enough, forgot about those, what about the new Cows?[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Nope.
There is a hell of a lot of choppers that start with "CH-", including the CH-47 Chinook![]()
Would be seriously surprised if not.Shovel wrote:Fair enough, forgot about those, what about the new Cows?
It's the way they work. We have a different one.Navo wrote:Now compare this to FH2. They release media updates almost weekly, and those updates consist out of good looking renders and screenshots.
