Standardize 128 player servers. Start them, and the nerds will come.

Only reason I haven't been playing PR is because I don't have a soundcard and my onboard one freezes PR and BF2...

Kicking non-mumblers is a bad idea...especially if the guy is new. He already has to absorb a lot of info on the game mechanics. Give him some time to learn. No forum tread/YT video in this world would replace a round experienced for real, so why dont spend some minutes explaining advantages for him? The server is not gonna crash if you are doing some teaching. You were in his boots earlier and somebody else bothered to explain the advantages of VOIP or how to crew a APC to you some time ago. So replies like ALT+F4 is the key for global is just fkin stupid.
COD like players is what we have now, its the kind of games dominating whether we like it or not. Is up to us, the veterans, to show him that there is something different out there.

I don't know what server you guys are speaking about, but most of the servers i play on (PRTA,NEW,MERK,NWA) will always try to explain to new guys what mumble is and how to install it before kicking. I'm very patient on that matter. I will only kick non-mumbles if they persistently do not answer on either VOIP or in chat when I'm trying to contact them.

One thing people also have to remember is that the game is getting much older. What did it come in 2005? IIRC... That means that all the new "potential" blood either have no clue what BF2 is or what PR is. The new generation of gamers have been created to pick up and play. Therefore, PR will naturally decline in players as new games, new software, and new technology is created.

Non-mumble kick was a general idea...thing is ppl are not responding the way should to new guys...thats all. For a newbie, just geting a kit is difficult, but when ppl are mocking ya is already too much. Now, rtfm or not rtfm is just part of the issue...people are not friendly enough with the new guys...thats all and for them can become rly frustating

YES PR has a low player count AT TIMES
it happens... but PR also has updates at least bi-yearly
This keeps the playerbase solid, even if it fluctuates at times
Sometimes other game releases happen
Same shit happened when BF3 came out, a few weeks later everything was back to normal

Join decent euro server become SL:

One guy joins squad ask him for medic gets CE No verbal comms one text runs wrong way dies
A (jp) Japan? player join no comms or text leaves
Another guys joins no comms of any sort spawns somewhere silly

I alt F4 go and read a book.

seems to happen increasingly often like this.

This weekend (vbios event, prta falklands, afterdunes normandy) showed that even if the devs don't give us 1.0 or mumble is sooo crappy like you guys say, I think the community is not laying restless There will always be enough players to have fun with.
