Personally I detest the G3 and Battle Rifles in general(except vietnam era m14). Not enough ammo, too much recoil, the damage increase aint practical. The only real use the G3 has for me is with the INS when you need to take down armored blufor players and even then the AK does a much better job at close to medium range.
To me the PR Mec are like an anachronism of cold war battle doctirnes, they have some fun weapons like the MG3 and MP5, but the fighting rifle is a joke. No wonder the battle rifle concept idea was rapidly abandoned.
I would love to see the MEC get back their AK101 with a 5.56 RPK and RPG-7 aswell.

What? It already kills on two shots to the chest area, for comparison, sniper rifles also kill with two shots in the chest area, the diference is that sniper rifles deal a bit more damage, getting the target in the "black-and-white-coughing" state if you don't land a killing shot.WhatTheHell wrote:For that strong recoil, this gun should do a bit more damage.

Ruskies should get new scopes on PR, the 1p29 is a **** SUSAT...
the PO4x would do a better job(even if only for the SQL), and the 1p29 could be moved for Gronzy SQL

I forced myself to use the G3 and FAL today. And I hated it.
The G3 was better but not by much and that was due to the iron sights. Both guns have massive amounts of uncontrollable recoil. At every range I was penalized for my choice of using the battle rifles. In CQC the crucial third(killing) shot would miss and the gun would drift off to the sides, unless I was less than 5m away. I had to literally drag my mouse down nearly twice as much as I do with an AR or even an AK, just to be able to hit with my follow up shots.
At medium to long range, the high recoil forced me to readjust my aim in a major way after every shot. The FAL has really bad iron sights and the draw distance is really bad(old engine) making it nigh impossible to hit targets past 100M.
And the worst part is the Ammo is halved. 270 rounds for an AR, 210 for an AK47, and 140 for a BR. But does the BR give you any practical advantage? It still takes 3-4 shots to kill a guy compared to a standard Assault Rifle. The only time it's fair is when you're going up against the M4 or M16A4 on burst, but they can just swap to semi and take you out faster than you can take them out. I literally walked into an enemy Mec on Muttrah, I was on Semi and He was on Full, I won with only three clicks. He dumped half is magazine my way. I only got hit once.
I see these problems as endemic to the battle rifles and to fix them you need to make them less punishing to use. I'm not saying make them kill in 1-2 shots to the chest. I'm saying tone the recoil down a little. And maybe a nice covert buff would be a longer Zero maybe 400m? So they can not rival DMRs but surpass ARs.
Everytime I'm on Mec, I minimize the amount of G3 rifles in my squad. Whether by having both an AR and MG, or crewman to replace a rifleman for CQC. Hell I've even allowed my guys to go pilot if need be.

its kind of hard to keep on track with this thread day by day shit ton of post's....
i didn't see a single solution other than Raging and bitching about the Rifle.

Even with a 350+ ping i manage fine with the G3 it's not that big of a deal. If this gun had it's recoil reduced however much it could easily be OP in the right hands imo.

In my opinion G3 works fine dont nerf recoil cartridge 7.62x51 must kick i love this weapon and the feeling when scope jump after each shot .

Just keep the weapon or replace it with a not AK weapon, we already have Russians with AK-74s for everybody and the insurgents (ARF, iraqi insurgents and Syrian insurgents) have it on most kits as well. Either we have a new unique weapon for the MEC or we keep the G3 because the AK saturation in this game is too damn high.
If it was another god damned AK faction then it would just be Russians with some outdated vehicles and extra toys (scorpion, boragh)
