I would have thought you'd be ok, your on medium textures?

Defrag your game files as much as possible, use jkdefrag

minimise the additional programs running alongside bf2, all that virus checker junk, etc - use a program called enditall

From what i know the amount of ram shouldn't really influence AA performance.
For me, I'm currently running mostly medium, but as many others, my new system will also do well at all high. The 4850 is supposed to perform well on AA, i guess I'll just find out.

I mention AA because it increases texture memory. If your video card doesnt have enough memory to contain all the textures it will use the slower general pc memory, ie. 2gb vs 3gb etc

Normally you'd be right but bf2 is a big fatty when it comes to memory and pr with big maps highlights that

These factors are not shown in fps figures but you will notice the lag plenty if you lack the memory

I went from using 512MB of RAM and lagging on all low settings vBF2 to 2GB and smooth gameplay on PR with all low settings.

Got to run all low as my GCard is only a 7300LE with 512MB of RAM so I'm praying 0.8 is kind on my old GCard lol.

almost every thing's on high, but I do occasionally get errors with models or flickering weapons and terrain.

Im getting a new computer so i can finally play PR. How well will it run with these specs:
4gigs of ram, 256mb ATI radeon 2400XT, one hard drive with 250gb of free space and a reserve with 250gbs as well?

My old 6800GT 250Mb card handles the game well, I'm not on low at all more like Medium. plays fine. it lags some places but most of the time very playable. It is after all a System coming up for its fourth Birthday. I was getting a new Quad system this Summer but got a New Car (Mini Cooper) so shelfed the PC for now and glad i did with all this new stuff about to come out for PC's.

My Geforce 7300SE and 1GB ram mean I can only run at Low settings to avoid crashing. Performance is fine on medium settings, but the game crashes so often as to make gameplay unworkable. :(

All low, i can run on med but it chokes and dies on maps like fools road so i work on the idea of 'i'd rather see the bad guys than admire the trees'

Everyone hates me when I mention my 8800gt, but I've only got a 5000X2 core, so I'm gonna replace my motherboard and processor for quad core extreme, maybe upgrade to DDR3 RAM whilst I'm at it.

one of the main reasons I don't like maps with too many trees, grass and other
"greens' is the fact that "low" or "medium" settings don't render all of it.
So guys playing on "high" are in disadvantage somewhat :-|

you can't see the "guy" when you have a dual 8800gt or 3870 while he can
see you a mile away.

i should be able to ahve it on full blown high, but this mod for sum reason is buggy with my computer, no others, only PR, so i have most things on medium, and the odd one i can get away with on high....
