I just need to know, are you using the hk 417 as sniper rifle
if yes: why? everyone else is using it as a marksman rifle- its semi automatic making it better suited for marksman rifle
I do not say it is wrong i just want to know why, it seams a bit wierd beeing marksman rifle with some forces and sniper with others
I figured this would be the place to ask, correct me if I am wrong

Because that's how the Norwegian military uses it - as a sniper rifle (and a DMR as well, though there really isn't such a thing in the Norwegian military).

Yeah... ok, but i still think it should be a marksman rifle, and that it would be well spent time to find another of the rifles Norway use as a sniper rifle
Norway has long range sniper rifles and teams, my friend is in one of them in Afghanistan though he uses the 50. cal MØR. In one of his missions a while back their team got the record for longest range shot hitting it's target in Norwegian history- i believe thats want you meant by "though there really isn't such a thing in the Norwegian military" his friends use the DMR you guys have now -which will be replaced by the HK 417, therefore i think we should only have one of them - the HK 417 as a marksman rifle
This is all just my opinion, and really like the current DMR model, but i think we should rather use the HK417 as marksman rifle and the NM149 as sniper rifle.
PS if you want me to shut up about this, please just say so

This will only be a marksman rifle the sniper would be awm for the gameplay's sake!

Note that the HK417 is meant to become the standard sniper rifle in the Norwegian armed forces. I suggest a scoped AG3F2 for DMR. Will also change gameplay slightly, forcing the soldiers to rely on armoured vehicles for long-range fire, as in RL.

i suggest L115a1 (modelled by ExEc) for sniper and Ag3F2 W/ ACOG for DMR

Any source on the Norgies using the L115A1? And then what would happen to the HK 417?

It would be raped by a huge pink whale, no, I don't think he thought it through...

The Norwegian army does not have dedicated snipers (snikskytter) only marksmen (skarpskytter) and the NM149 is being faced out if it's not allready taken out. And I support KP's suggestion, which is closest to what a friend of mine had when being a marksman in the TMBN and general Norwegian Military doctrine.

I do realize it might not be possible, but the 12.7mm MØR would solve the problems

PR doesnt use .50 cal snipers, besides the MØR is not intended to engage human targets (MATERIALødelegelsesrifle) allthough i guess the factual use differs

Besides its use is not that wide spread in the Norwegian Army AFAIK

The MØR is beeing used against people, even dough it might not be intended to do so. they also use armor-piercing ammo, which blows up, (my friend have said to me it does not explode before it has exited the body dough)
it is quite frequently used in Afghanistan
I do realize it would be massively overpowered, but it would solve our problems

One question: Will the HK-417 be fully automatic or Semi-automatic??

What will differentiate the DMR and the Sniper rifle in-game, performence and gameplay-wise?

DMR is for squads, to provide long range accurate fire, not too much zoom, a bit more inaccurate than a sniper. bigger clip and higher rate of fire
Sniper is for specialised squads, for recon, and to take out high priority targets like Squad Leaders, H-AT's, other snipers etc. the Sniper has Higher accuracy, more zoom and more Stopping Power. but the sniper has a lower rate of fire, and you must fire shots with long intervals
