Also regarding the settings, both Novint and ourselves are looking into a fix for it in time for the next Beta phase.

Weapons are more accurate but make far less damage per bullet thus to me they seem to be less leathal.
When you spray someone to to the chest from 1M with an smg and they don't drop, it's just silly.

True but my point was little different overall. Skill is arguable thing. I like games where how you position wins over how you aim in a degree. I like to shoot enemys in the back but in some games that just don't give you a guaranteed kill. At the ages of 18 the brain is still evolving even thou reflects work :)

I ment asset whoring more about the fact that in most of the popular maps the bases are capturable (in any order) and they spawn more tanks/planes for you and even less for the enemy. So usully it comes down to rape.
Named squads are imho stupid and should not prevent you from using an asset if you do it correctly.

Make a squad with VOIP in the title and boot people who don't follow you. When I went back to vBF2 after playing PR, that's what I did, and I found tons of people flocked to a squad marked "Eng VOIP".

BF2 assault mod has better accuracy then any other BF2/mod/expansion - including vBF2 imo.
The lethality is at the same high level: with 2 bullets to the body, or 1 to the head needed to take out the target.
The guns use tracer rounds - maybe that's why accuracy is very high?.
There was a discussion whether or not pr should use tracer or the regular rounds.

That is the reason. In one topic where one guy was trying to implement realistic bullet drop it was either: tracers or realistic bullet drop. Because the tracers were unaffected.

I think they should unlock the "Ultra High" settings again. I don't really see a point in locking it in the first place but yeah...

The mouse wheel acceleration feature seems pretty cool for the APCs. It will make the gunner job easier aswell as the possibility to advance at the same speed as the infantry.

I think what they're talking about is a glitch with the mouse wheel that allows an APC/car/tank to accelerate to faster than allowed speeds. That's why parachute mouse wheel acceleration is also under investigation.

People could make their movements in the parachute doubly fast and soar to anywhere. Granted, you stick out like a sore thumb and are easily killed in a parachute most times.

However, an APC full of a squad could speed from flag to flag at an astronomical rate, and that could be troublesome. Glad they're looking into it. :) Btw, it's a bug they're working on, not exactly a new feature for vehicles. ;)

Allowing more than 2gb of RAM is sweet. I wonder if it's related to that memory fix Travis posted in the Tech section.

It does the same thing as Travis's fix.

I doubt it will add more features, but it might fix some sound bugs, especially with vista.

I suggested this for PR ages ago :P

Thank god I can stop using my joystick...(it worked, but I couldn't look around while moving.)

Nice one! So with the update we dont need to fumble with travis's fix anymore?

Acceleration by scroll-wheel hmm? Sounds good for patrolling in urban settings! Looks like DICE IS listening to the players! Especially with the 2 gigs and up restriction!

Wait. They are after changing a load of things in Beta2 that were effectively started by polls in their official forum (2gb memory, accelerating, the jump-prone delay). This could be the only chance to get some of the important things that affect PR unlocked/un-hardcoded - more than 64 players, more than 6 players per squad, weapon sway...

Its been tried - the producer still gives the same answers :/
He has also just confirmed that Widescreen support will be in the final version - I doubt they'll risk adding that without beta testing, so I think there will be a beta3 before final release. ( apparently they're aiming for a final relase around the end of May )
