Shovels are standard-issue equipments...

we need knives as other people have said if you have no ammo left you can take it hand to hand and in reality every solder basically has one on them just in case and also it is great for behind enemy line missions in PR as you can kill someone and then they will not know where you are or anythings.

Essentially you would still have the shovel. Is there any reason to remove the knife? What is so much better than the knife that we NEED to add?

For kits without incendiary grenades: add them.

For others, maybe something cool... like some of those items suggested before but was rejected due to not enough weapon slots.

i agree, its in most casees a pointless weapon. if it was important for combat then keep it. but you only need to have enough people in a radius to kill rallys and you can use an incindiary grenade.

i would lose the binoculars and knife and give everyone rollerskates and jetpacks

Keep it...It is unrealistic for a Soldier/Marine not to have one in the US Military...I am assuming the same for all NATO countries and Aus...

They are still effective IRL and are still used IRL

Well... soldiers still use sidearm guns IRL...... but we don't have it. I would remove the knive and set in its place a sidearm.

That has been discussed multiple times and isn't going to happen. Sidearms are literally sidearms, but in PR some people seem to run around with the pistol as their primary weapon, as we saw with the old pilot kit.

I know that knives aren't going anywhere simply because its impractical, frustrating to operate without one, and most of all: unrealistic.

I have never personally used the knife, but I think its definitely necessary. I can't say giving every kit an incendiary would be a good thing, its good to limit equipment so you have to have teammates.

The majority of soldiers and Marines do not carry side arms. Read my last posts.

Yes I know I m against taking the knife out...as I said b4 in my posts I was quoting someone who wanted to replace the knife with a sidearm for everyone... again read my previous posts

my bad, what would an US Army guy say when they are told you all will have to give your KA-BAR away lol?

It would really f*** things up if everyone had a pistol. Rifleman would be going "OMGZ GUISE LOOK AT MAH L33t PIST0ls!!!" And subsequently die because they tried to use the pistol. If you run out of ammo in a fire fight you should fall back and reload your weapon, if you gave everyone a pistol, this would not happen. Knives are a last resort weapon, and they should stay there.
