Aha ok so MEC gets the light bolt and norway will use the heavy one with the box magazine?
We use the light bolt as well, just look at the vids I posted earlier. Also, we use free belt, not drums/boxes.

But im really curious about the scope.
This one, Elcan like the Danes or something else?

Oh and will there be an extra version for bob?

The new version with scope has changed very little when compared with its predecessor FG42.

The picture one can see that even local to the placement of the scope is equal

Wow the mag only last 4 seconds awesome. So how many do we get i hope we get at least 2100 rounds at that rate of fire.

too bad that bf2 limits the rate of fire basicly to 300, 600, 900 and 1200 rpm

The MG3 has a 1200 rate of fire anyway. Rhys just said to have 2100 rounds not a 2100 Fire rate.

No i mean 2100 As in ammo you have on your person not rate of fire. you going to need a lot to keep this monster operational, It not very practical to have to park your self right on top of a supply crate just so your assured of enough ammo too keep this thing going.

Well that fine, the rate of fire for the MG3 with a 1200 rounds a minute, less if you put a heavier bolt on. Which is probably going to have to happen for the Auto riflemen’s version Just to make it more Ammo efficient.

a German MG Troop will only have about 200 to 400 rounds with them !
and the MG Soldier will have only 100 rounds loaded so the MG Supplysodier has to carry the extra ammo and the extra pipe (i know it sounds strange but in german its "Rohr") and you can believe me that carrying 200 rounds is enough !

Rohr would be barrel. The MEC will be fielding the MG3 as both a mounted weapon and as a handheld weapon, of which the handheld variant will have a cycling rate of 900rpm, with 6+1 75round drums on the soldier.

Hm, 75 round drums...I will need to learn better fire dicipline with that one, or I will fail it forever.

hmmm..... i dont know if MEC having mounted mg3 (or even handheld) is realistic ...
never saw any mg-3 used by mid-east forces

900 rpm?? Why not 1200? Its closer to 1100 you know...

Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia are 3 of many countries who use it.
Plus there are some insurgents with old mg42s.
I assume the 75 rounds are for gameplay reasons, because i only know the 50 round drum.
Kirra wrote:900 rpm?? Why not 1200? Its closer to 1100 you know...
light bolt: 550g, 1150s/min
heavy bolt: 950g, 900s/min
mixed the weight up a few posts earlier but that should be the real life facts now.

Make sure it overheats when firing heavily at 1200 rpm. ;)

How reliable are these drums? I've heard a lot of drum-fed MG's tend to fail.
