The server with the best community out there requires money for you to play there, else you get kicked 20 times a day for supporting member

Some servers have reserved slots, it's not universal nor unique to PR.nk87 wrote:The server with the best community out there requires money for you to play there, else you get kicked 20 times a day for supporting memberCompute?
You're not restricted to play on 1 server, there are plenty of them.
I don't recall ever being kicked to make room for a supporting member. But I understand that it is fair because they donate to the server and I'm merely privileged to play on it when I can.
Pretty weak reason to quit playing PR altogether, It also doesn't prove that there's anything wrong with the system or the server admins.

Quality may come with its cost. You cant object to that. Today without paying you cant play WoW online as far as I know.nk87 wrote:The server with the best community out there requires money for you to play there, else you get kicked 20 times a day for supporting memberCompute?
You already told it; "Server with the best community" those server/clan owners paying from their own pocket to create the needed best structure. I know that the owner of my ex BF2 clan was paying 800 pound every month just to run 2 servers plus community website etc. Who can blame when they support their own supporters?
Forget giving cash support... even how many times, after a good game, did you (did any of us) put effort to visit the clan's/server's web site and thanked them?

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
Ive made alot of PR movies if you click my link. Majority of em is from their servers. Some deleted now, but id say atleast 50k views in total the last 3 years, if that advertising aint thank enough I dont knowalberto_di_gio wrote:Quality may come with its cost. And in the end its not the server i liked, it was shit, was down all the time, crashes( or did ) 20 times a day... Was the players who all came there..
I'd say paying for the server is fine, but if i dont pay my money directly to that server, im not paying. Not sending my money to so random guy with a paypal.
And to the aussie further up, i didnt quit PR because of this. Time isnt what it used to be for me, sorry if i didnt choose my words right and got you missunderstood in the middle.

But my point isnt anywhere near this flame trolling, it is simply, why not take money for PR as a package? Then let some high ranked trusted tosser handle the money and the contribution to the different servers theres needed? And if you havent been kicked for supporting member on TG, you either pay money or havent played there. Or.. as a third option proves my point even more so.

Just fyi, best servers around cost: "1 Month Price - £0.89 GBP" per slot, 0.81 GBP if you buy it for 12month.alberto_di_gio wrote:Quality may come with its cost. You cant object to that. Today without paying you cant play WoW online as far as I know.

And if TG run theirs on a 800pound server with the crashes and restarts it use to have, its a straight up joke. I know they dont use this server, but still. The guys funding the server would fund it even tho there aint no reserved slots. Greed ruins gaming, this might sound GREEDY aswell, but hey its not. Kicking a guy with a fullsquad in his chopper just so some other dude can join midgame and have no idea whats going on, is. But im not gonna talk more of this case tbh., corruption is all over the world, and even gaming. And since I dont play, I dont care. Use your money or time whereever you like

From what I know, the money donated on a voluntary basis is not used for the PR server in specific, it goes into a fund for the whole TG community, and is used for website and all their servers for all games.
And this thread is not about the TG server and how it is run, further posts revolving around it will be deleted without notice.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
I just started PR yesterday. I like the game but for some reason my mic isn't working inside of bf2 and thats killing it for me.
Also a concern of mine is me selecting a spawn point, and getting thrown back to the operations base. It literally makes me close out the game and go back to bf2.

Did you run the VoIP setup that comes up after installing BF2? You can find it in your EA GAMES/Battlefield 2 folder.charli3 wrote:I just started PR yesterday. I like the game but for some reason my mic isn't working inside of bf2 and thats killing it for me.
That happens when you try to spawn on another squad's rallypoint. The little number next to the spawn indicates what squad it belongs to, make sure to select your own's.charli3 wrote: Also a concern of mine is me selecting a spawn point, and getting thrown back to the operations base. If there is a little green triangle next to it, that's a FOB where you can spawn on, no matter what squad you are in.
Also, the manual that came with the PR Install might help with some starting difficulties.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
Because that would be illegal. We would be violating EA's intellectual property rights.nk87 wrote:it is simply, why not take money for PR as a package?
And its up to server owners how they want to run their servers. Even EA has no say over that (and they have stronger rights than us). All we can do is grant or revoke licenses for our mod ... and one of the express clauses in that is that server owners are allowed to choose how they run their servers as long as they adhere to settings which we demand for the game play.
I mean , surely if TG's servers offend you that much , then you don't have to play there ? (and lets be clear here ... running a server is not a cheap business ... for someone like TG the data costs are astronomical ... and if you were helping pay for them , don't you think that you would feel you have more rights to play there than someone who doesn't ?)
And the crashes were due to hackers exploiting a hole in BF2 which EA have since fixed.

Maybe. One could argue that this vulnerability is sometimes caused by the lack of Infantry support.[R-CON]Rudd wrote:I would agre to a point that armoured vehicles are too veulnerable
Guess this is slightly OT:
"Infantry Protection of Tanks
• Close-In Protection. When movement is restricted and observation is poor, the squad must provide close-in protection to the tank. At least one fire team should cover the rear and the flanks of the tank. The remaining fire teams follow behind."

You really can't lose your interest to this game. There's not any real alternatives. This is the only FPS game I can play anymore. Everything else feels dull in some way compared to PR.

Project Reality opened up the New Year having a Public PR server ranked #1 out of all BF2 servers, "Is PR Loosing Interest...? your quote BabylonCome, I say the pics of the following banners should answer your question... Check out the server rank on the banners.BabylonCome wrote:I would just like to know everyone's thought on the current state of affairs with PR....
With it being over 8 months since the last BIG update with new maps, vehicles, weapons etc and the amount of full or nearly full servers only just managing to get into double figures this past few months (our own RIP server struggles to get full of late and always use to be well populated), is PR dead?
I know all of us loyal PR players at RIP are just down on our knees begging for 0.9 as we know this will bring a little life back into the game and maybe even bring a few people back who have since strayed to other games.
So come on people, let me hear what you think of PR at the moment (pre 0.9)...?

Only game I have actually consistently played, and the only only Multiplayer game I ever played. Started in 0.7, and no matter how long I take a break I always come back for more PR.
PR... my favorite/favourite game.
P.S. And it won't loose interest as long as we get that new paratrooper spawn in Iron Eagle

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Then u should try commanding a squad, like APC squad/heli squad, and it will suddenly make the map much more fun. Try taking the sniper and going in the mountains. Try to go Cobra hunting with your HAT. There are so many things u could do on that map. I personally hate it too, but i got used to it. Plus don't worry, people will change their favourite maps with the time.

Re: Is PR Loosing Interest...?
So far, every time I've tried to get into a game of PR this week, I've seen at least half a dozen mostly full servers. I logged on at 1 am last night to find that 4 US servers were nearly full. Right now (2 am eastern time), there are 3 US servers that are full or a player or two short of full, another server with about 50 people, and another server with about 30. So even at a ridiculous time of night, there are more than 250 americans playing PR. That's solid numbers no matter how you put it.

Well I've just returned to PR after giving it a try with some of my Clan members about 12 months ago, and I'm finding it a blast. Just a lot of learning to do again LOL
