Uh, looks like you might have a bunch of double faces. Check by dragging out verts/edges/faces on several places and see if there's duplicates. This will cause z-fighting which is what the glitches on your render look like to me.

Did you at any point export and import the model into a different program, changing formats etc?

I didnt export/import, however yes, it does indeed have double faces, any way to fix this or will it take a decade?

So the entire thing is duplicated basically? Also, are the triangles loose or welded? If every triangle is it's own element then you'll need a specific script to filter out the duplicates correctly (doing this by hand will take way too long and is confusing as all hell :p ). If there is just a duplicate copy underneath it you can select it, drag it away and/or delete it.

Oh god. this thing is fucked.

If I drag-select over 1 face, my maya counter tells me I have selected 4 faces, WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I DONE.

It seems like its all duplicated, except its all actually 1 object too. I tried seperating it and everything, but its actually just 1 model thats severely fucked in the ****.

Hmm, the script I've got is for max so I'm afraid I can't help you further with it really. Try looking for duplicate finder and/or remover scripts/plugins/whatever it's called for maya.

He might be angry at the fact I started modelling it today, finished it today, and its due monday. And my next lesson is monday lol.

Thanks Adriaan, I found a Cleanup tool in Maya that removes duplicated faces. I will run the render again and Hopefully its all sorted now! Legend!

Hubba Hubba! Looks damn fine samo!

Can't wait to get back to modelling myself, moved to a new house about a month ago. But I still need a desk to put all my stuff on (currently on laptop). Missed some great things in this thread, those tutorials seem really great!

This is my first class for animation, 2nd project. Obviously not as good as a lot of the things people put on here but I thought I'd put something up since I have something :P

Gotta start somewhere buddy.
Most of the guys here (not including myself) have logged hours in the 3 and 4 digits.
Modeling masters mapping and meshing, as it were.

Yup, and I'm still in the wee double digits so far from this quarter, probably spent only around 60 hours so far on my first couple projects, haha, I have a ways to go :P

Modellings fun though, and texturing might be as well I can't say.
More fun than trying to deal with bad software written when you were a kid.

Messing around with Millenia's AK74u. I havent really done much more than throw down base textures and try a few things here and there. Such a brilliant bake to work with.
