I think you as a gunner wont see the recoil, because you are looking through a camera that isnt mounted at the gun.

but in pr they could maybe add shaking to the chopper, so the chopper will vibrate heavily while the gun is firing.

or they just at bigger spread to the rounds that the cannon fires.
so you need to compensate the "fake recoil" which is basically bullet spread, by firing carefully and only on a few bursts at the time.

Yeah, of course I was talking about shaking the chopper much more than the gunner camera (but logically it should since the camera is on the chopper...) . Like we can see in a mod in ARMA 2. I dont know if IRL there is a spread with the canon if you shoot too long with it because of the vibration. Are you sure about that?

The Gun is already shaking Heavily because of the lack of gun gyro stabilization / FCS
If they add Shaking its going to be impossible for the gunner to hit and in real life there is almost no shaking since they have stabilized electro-optical sensors.

There is nothing shaking in the attack chopper in PR...

If the maps aren't showing it's something the server admin needs to fix... or have them contact AncientMan for help.

The attack choppers don't "shake" as such but with no turret stabilisation to counter any movement from the helicopter it is hard to aim, but if the helicopter is "shaking" its down to the pilot making it shake, or you have a very bad ping/connection :p

As for is it possible to make the cannon have recoil when fired, yes, the A-10 gun has quite a bit of recoil, if you fire it when on the ground you will start to roll backwards.

yes, the pilot's subtle movements are what makes it happen. If you fly perfectly straight, then firing the cannon on the move accuractely is possible, but on a quick pass, the choppers just jitter so extremely, any subtle movement throws off aim completely.

It doesn't work too well though, it only shows the next map in the maplist, and since almost every server has a map-vote it's useless.

Hey devs, I was reading the History section of Project Reality again and I was wondering, do you guys know where the original thread by Project Founder Requiem that started PR in the first place is? It would be very/fairly interesting read.

But yes, you will see some armed transport in the future where its realistic, like with the Hind as per Dev Cast #3.

You're thinking of the UH-1N. UH-1Y has more lift.

Not enough to carry a squad into battle however from what I remember you saying, unless you where on about the UH-1N as if you where then that changes things, providing its done in r/l too...

WRT to UH-1Y:
