What do you want to see in a Realism Mod?

NO RESPAWN
Medal of Honor had that option...it's ok to a point, but it does encourage camping more...ppl afraid to die..so they won't seek out objectives..If you have no respawn, then it should be on a Team death match, with no objectives. Yes your right, you can't sprint 100 meters and actually be accurate with your wpn...heart rate and breathing change your accuracy drastically...would like that implemented...would cut down on the RUN N GUN **** in a realism mod. MOSTLY get rid of the DOLPHIN DIVERS!! Ppl that are sprinting, jump to ground and hit you as they land...NOT POSSIBLE in real combat
...not even on a lucky day.

Sure as hell would be nice covering stuff up. But we don't want things to magically become visible at 20 m distance. Once we get maps that are bigger, it may be a good idea to implement this to hide rallypoints from passing aircraft...

Commander Requests...
Instead that the SL's request something, the commander can request something...
Like,
<right click on a sniper logo> <selects block> <clicks where he wants the sniper to block>
you'll see a friendly sniper logo on the position where he clicked and you'll hear, I want a sniper to block off that road!
So can you request difrent stuff... MG bockade... Sniper cover...
Grenadier here... ect.

I know it has been brought up before, because I searched for M2a3 and this thread came up, just can't find it in the 167 pages.. is there going to be a m2a3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle in PR? I know there is an M6 Linebacker but the M2a3 is definitely being used presently by the US. would be a great addition to US convoys on any current PR map..
what I --really-- want to see is a map based solely on a column armor formation type AAS, with at least 10 tanks, several M113s and M2a3s.. but then the Insurgents, Republican Guard and fedayeen could be spawned along the roadway and attempt to block the convoy from reaching a certain point, say Saddam / Baghdad Intl. Airport, while capturing objective points Larry, Curly, Moe.
with an alternate map 'ending' with the final capture point being Saddam's palace in the heart of Baghdad. yes this dream is all taken from the book 'Thunder Run' by David Zucchino which I am currently reading in my free time.
reference image, not the same found in the actual book. but close enough. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphic ... war213.gif
if anyone is interested in the book, http://www.amazon.com/Thunder-Run-Armor ... 0871139111 definitely worth the buy / read! I'm hooked on it!!

I think it might just get added. But not before the US Army is introduced, mind.JL wrote:I know it has been brought up before, because I searched for M2a3 and this thread came up, just can't find it in the 167 pages.. is there going to be a m2a3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle in PR? Oh, and I'll check out that book. There's a few war books that I've been thinking about buying, among them "Black Hawk Down", "Immediate Action" and "The One That Got Away".

thats aint a bad idea, but i was thiinking more of a conquest assault map. Uncap: US startpoint (with the armour), then u have the insurgents with flags all along this street/highway/road, the US have to make there way along that road (or if theres many streets, nigociate there way along) capping the flags as they go, insurgents task is simple: grind that armoured coloum to a halt!
the map JL has posted could be of some use to give us an idea

yeah the map image is from highway 8 into baghdad, it is as real as you can get, I know I read that steelbeasts tank simulator had a map of highway 8 but thats all I know about it, that it exists
in the 'Thunder Run' book there are two pages in the front, one of a further out map and then a closer view of the checkpoints, I had posted this in another thread once but no idea if anyone saw it, video of the thunder run up highway 8.. it really puts a picture in your head of what you are reading in the book, that is if you don't play PR..

I'm not sure if anybody has suggested this. I would really like the handling of helicopters to be like it was in the bf1942 mod desert combat. I haven't ever tried to fly a helicopter in real life, but i would guess that the desert combat way of handling is more realistic than the current way of handling in both the normal bf2 and project reality. Some may argue that the DC way is too much sim for the game, but isn't sim what realism is about?

Actually, today's helicopters come with quite a few gizmos to help the pilot and make it easier to fly them. Suggest we ask someone who actually has flown helicopters what they're like.theCount wrote:I'm not sure if anybody has suggested this. And if you haven't flown helis IRL, how do you know that DC is "sim"?
Welcome to the forums, by the way! Hope you enjoy it!

I would like to have more seats in the transport chopper.
Currently there are at least 7, that is cool, however, there is still room for more.
I would like to have one more passenger seat. Not really all that important for .6, but IMO, the team that effectivly manages their transport hellos in these large maps coming up in .6 will have an advantage over the team that does not. Moving large amount of warriors will be important. Do not forget that the CO will need to be on the ground to deploy the team assets. He/she could fly around in this eight seat while a full squad is in the back.
Check out this TG Tac Mod thread. Go to post number 15 and check out where TG devs were able to get a seat next to the pilot.
Notice how TG Tac Mod does not have six seats in the bac, only five; but PR does have six seats in the back, so this may be done, right?
http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefiel ... opper.html
Again, an 8th seat is not that crucial to .6, But in IRL, these choppers transport more than six person at a time.
Thank You for your time, and talk to TG-asch for how this was done.

Ive flown a helocopter before, hard to belive but i have. my grandpa is a helocopter chief or something like that in Onagaga county in New York his name is Carl Mosegard look him up, hes localy famous... saved alot of lives. but to the point, he let me fly his helo while he was in the right seat.. i was in the left in the trainer seat... BUT I STILL FLEW IT! its also hard as hell to keep it staying still while hovering...you have to be able to balance a broom handle with 1 finger to do that.

Hi All,
Being and old DC fan, I still miss the way choppers was played back then. There was a number of things worth to note:
1) The chopper was initially unstable, much like flying a real chopper.
2) It really did require skill to fly, you couldn't just get in a chopper and start flying
3) after learning the basic handling of the chopper, it was a more flexible aircraft to fly, with more meneurability then what I've experienced with PR.
So to put in short, I would love the devs to have a look at DC, and perhaps remake the chopper experience from that mod.

Welcome to the forums, Uffe! Now go on and spam the hell out of them!
Great that you took your time to post in this section instead of making a new topic. Because this has been suggested before. Lots of people loved the way choppers handled in DC. What I'd like to see is some input from real heli pilots as to how the choppers should handle. Not input from someone who loved the choppers in DC (no offence
).
@ Causticbeat: I like your suggestion, but this has been suggested before, so please use search.
Or you could post in the spam thread.

if u can fly a heli pretty well in PR then u can pretty much fly anything (in Bf2 not in real life
)
its a little hard at first, but u get used to it, u have to be dam careful on takeoff/landing
