im gonna say what i thought it was earlier...is it the tripod for Rhino's requested anti air stuff? What program was the smiley done in?

Thats a sweet shotgun dude.

its not for rhino, otherwise youre close. smiley was done in max9. just curved a cylinder, made two balls arranged them, animated updown and rotated while it gets squished. really a quickie for lucky who felt like he will be needed or something

Hey, that seems like a fun thing to do, why dont you start a WIP thread without telling what you are actually modelling, and let people guess it in the process? Each update would give them more hints :)

Then again, i should probably go to bed now..

Airbase for? Looks very nice. What are all the circles for? Is that where some markings should come later? Or maybe it's not an airbase? I'm confused now :D

Yes its an airbase, but for a training map of sorts. You can tell because a) it can house about 60+ aircraft, b) It has pretty unrealistic layout, with two parallel runways and one of them shared by helicopters and jets (hypoetetcally, ofc).
I didnt worry much about the layout nor did the mapper i am making it for, I was more concerned if i can pull it off from the modelling and texturing side of things.

The bottom part with smaller circles is for helicopters, they will spawn in them. The upper part is where hangars for jets will be added. Those larger "circles" are for jets (and hypotetically for helicopters to turn around, when they miss their hangar or whatever.

ah good, I got quite worried when I saw it on the last page before reading that, that you had made an airbase for a normal map without talking over the concept etc as it wouldn't be fit for a normal map as you said, but for training it should do the job :)

Nice work getting the taxiways in etc :D

Honestly I find the tutorials on that website the most helpful in understanding the tools at hand, and how to use them.
