Sad that there arent British forces and paratroopers?

As fun as it would be to include, we just don't have the manpower to put out a British faction, let alone map makers to make maps where the Brits would be featured. While yes, we have things like the enfield and the bren (eventually when it is released in the Falklands minimod Rhino is working on), we would still need things like a webley, piat, sten, etc, let alone new player models, gear, and era-voices.
As far as paratroopers go, technically we will have then, however they will be US Army with parachutes, similar to Germans in Silent Eagle. This does mean, however, that they will not get paratrooper specific equipment, such as an m1 carbine with a foldable stock or paratrooper specific gear for the player models.

There are paratroopers, but no British Forces. We don't have enough weapons for them, would be too many placeholders I'm afraid.

The bren gun that is going to be in the falklands minimod is the L4 so you couldn't really use it for the ww2 minimod anyway.

Ye as camo said, the Bren made for PR:F is the L4A4 Bren which uses the 7.62mm round and wasn't used during WW2. That was the Mk3 Bren (and a few other similar versions) that fired the old .303 round:

Does the BF2 engine make manual-bolting impossible for this minimod?
Will there be a way to fake the ping noise of the Garand?

As far as I know, if you hold down the mouse button after shooting, it will delay the bolting until you let go, so it's something. I doubt that doing it the way you want it is doable.
This would be doable by having a weapon slot for it that makes a ping noise when you use it. But before you'll get too excited about it let me just tell you that this ping trick has and had no basis in reality. None. It's an Urban Myth that falls apart quickly when you honestly think about it.

Oh, this was a surprise to me. How come the ping trick isn't realistic? Is it just that a Garand ping is too loud to fake, or something?
Thanks for answering my questions. I'm gonna go into PR today and try delaying the action on the Mosin Nagant.

The interviewed soldiers from Japan/Germany and asked if they ever used the tactic in question and they said they'd never heard of it and it'd be stupid to use. Just because one guy is reloading doesn't mean that there aren't 30 others who won't shoot you if you charge.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'm gonna go into PR today and try delaying the action on the Mosin Nagant.
There are multiple reasons:
1. The final gunshot is still ringing through the air when the ping occurs and it completely overshadows the ping unless you're right next to the gun. This is even more true when you are on the opposing side of a gun, the noise of the gunshot is channeled through the barrel making it appear even louder. Hearing the ping is impossible, and I'm completely omitting people yelling, screaming, other guns going of, grenades exploding, tanks shooting etc. for the sake of argument.
2. And even if you could hear the ping, that tells you that one dude is empty. I mean, good luck finding the one who's out of ammo in a combat situation.
The Germans would rather retreat than advance in most situations when they realize the enemy has to reload in order to create space between themselves and their enemy.

Retreat to create space? Is this really a tactic they used in WWII? Does it mean that their weapons gave them more of an advantage at longer range?

Which minimod would probably be released first?
Falklands or WWII?
Or are you both around the same level of progress?
Cheers

The next PR:Falklands release will most likley before the next PR:WW2 release simply because the PR:WW2 guys have a lot more stuff left to make due to the vastness of the weapons etc used during WW2 and there are only a few more high priority things left to finish before the next PR:F release

Dying in a foxhole means that the enemy doesn't have to worry about you any longer. But if you retreat, take position on your second line of defense, you made the enemy pay to come close to you once, and now you make him pay for a second time for trying to do it again. And if that doesn't cut it, you back of to your third or even fourth line of defense if it needs be. This is pretty much the opposite of the Japanese WW2 infantry fighting doctrine, but admittedly it wasn't in use until the Sowjets began counterattacking in early 1942 because of how fast and overwhelming the Wehrmacht was during the early stages of the war.
Does it mean that their weapons gave them more of an advantage at longer range?
It does but only very little and only on quite far ranges(300m and above). It's more a difference in equipment that leads to different philosophies and styles. The US believed in individual fire power, while the Germans made the MG the central point of their squad level fire power and defensive/offensive prowess. The Kar98k outdoes the Garand only at ranges that you can't hit without extensive training anyways, which forced them to have the Machine Gunner dish out whatever he can to keep the enemy from advancing, while the average Johann has to pick off opponents. This principle is still used in the Bundeswehr today, even though the G36 has the ability to give covering fire on it's own to some degree.

Thanks for the reply, Frontliner.
Can't wait for these two mods to be released. I love battles where both sides have to rely mostly on iron sights.
