'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']we can certainly work with admins to define 2 or 3 profiles that we provide. Doing so will give us a standard set of configurations that will make it easier to find servers to a players likeing and easier for us to assess game play dynamics feedback.
^^^This is the solution. Along with a beefed up ABR system for the official servers. And no ABR for the others. That way everyone has fun, but only the official servers are tracked. It would be like the popularity of Gun Game Mod in the CS world; if there was no modding allowed this wouldnt exist, thus the lifespan of the core game would be shortened. PR doesnt need that and the solution above would cover both bases.

Wow I didnt know this is such a problem. I have noticed the new servers with short spawn times. Being in America they are usualy the closet ones with the most players. I have noticed that these servers do not have the same teamowrk/squad work mindset as other servers. Becuase of that I will only play in these servers if there is not one available that is in origonal configuration.

For me if I dont want to play in those servers I dont, end of problem. Devs, you will not be able to control everything that goes on in every server and the more popular this mod becomes the more you will go nuts trying to do so. I say just let it be, if they want to change things there is realy not much you can do to stop them. As long as it clearly states in the server tittle what they have changed I see no problem with it. But that is just my opinion that I know holds no weight, just wanted to throw it out there.

Edit: Enough with the copywrite shit, what are you guys going to start sueing everyone or do you want us to just sign in blood before we can even download the mod. You are killing the comunity with this high and mighty attitude.

Fishw0rk wrote:Wow people just chill out. Changing some server settings (whether we like the settings or not) is not "modding the mod." If modding other mods was illegal we wouldn't have got DCR and DCX for BF1942.
I posted some copyright information in the last page. Go read it eh?
Fishw0rk wrote: Utimately I'm not a fan of the short spawn & no FF server settings, but to threaten legal action over them is ridiculous.
You're taking this out of context. No one is making legal threats or whatever. Understand what you read before posting another "out of context" comment.

@ Jeeves: The reason why we bring copyright stuff into the argument is because that's one of the ways we can protect what is our intellectual property. Since you've not invested anything in this mod, aside from time to play it and enjoy it, you cant understand the implications.

Copyrights exists because there needs to be a way for people to protect what's theirs from people that lack the common sense of respecting another person's intellectual property, invested time, and accumulated work. There's such a lack of common sense that microwave oven food packages warn you about contents being hot...

I believe that those who had to defend a point of view were able to do it in a civil manner.
