Maybe keep big red and one bomb car cause it isn't that often used

Also artillery Id say you need to make it so that the user MUST, MUST get clearance from the CO to fire on mosque and palace...Heck make that a rule for all firing at the mosque and palace.

Well clearence idea was more for players. Not python coding, just make it a scrolling rule, unless you have clearence, do not fire on the mosque!

First off, hi to everyone on the PR forums. I learnt about PR through kinglorre, and now he told me about this upcoming RP mod, which so far, sounds amazing.

Previously, I have taken part in a lot of Forum RP, and Garry's Mod (In-game) RP, and have quite a bit of experience on how an RP server and community works.
The RP systems I have previously been a member of, however, relied heavily on Lua coding for a monetary system, business system, and a GUI. This, I have been told, is impossible with the BF2 engine.

Even though I haven't read this all the way through, I'd like to chip in my 2 cents on this project.

1.
I have been told that citizens would be able to get weapons by finding them on the ground in certain places around the map. I am concerned this will result in citizens finding them, and rushing to grab a weapon every time they spawn.
I think Passive RP (RP which doesn't involve fighting) can be just as fun as fighting, and I think that citizens should be encouraged to RP together, building relations, owning property, and generally living out their lives.

2.
I have also heard about housing. That would be fantastic in RP, however, one or two things would be good.
A set of keys as a 'weapon' or item would be very useful for citizens to lock doors and hold meetings in private. If it's possible to do so, this would be brilliant.
If citizens could claim houses, it would be practically necessary for people to be only able to claim 1 house per person. This stops people running round, claiming everything, and spoiling the game for everyone else.

3.
Names. RP names would be, in my opinion, very important to an RP community. If possible, it would be brilliant to allow user to set a first and second name for themselves.

4.
I have heard about vehicle checkpoints. This sounds like a brilliant opportunity for RP. This raises a question. Will citizens be able to own vehicles? If so, what kind of vehicles? If they can't, it means checkpoint and patrol RP will become very dull.

5.
There is a chance that there will be very little citizen RP. As much as I would like to encourage it, this is after all a mod for Battlefield 2, and I know people will be eager to be in on combat.
A few points here:
- How will British Soldiers / Rebels be selected? Will they have to apply on the forums here, or will they just be assigned in-game? For soldiers, I believe it would be very good for them to have to at least apply, and have some small form of rank structure, or it will be chaos.
- Will each faction have radio communication? This would be very important.
- Will they both have different spawnpoints within the map? This would prevent any problems at spawn.


I could go on for a lot longer, but I'll shut up now and let you guys carry on with this.

Really I think most of this just has to depend on the players ingame, unless someone with Python abilities comes along to do coding.

I'll definitely be checking this out. Whilst it seems a completely different way of RPing to what I have done before, I think it'll work out well.

Cant make the arty have to have clearance w/o python modding, which I cant do. Unfortunately its also limited to line-of-sight shots, so best deployed at VCP/main as defence.
I'm pritty sure theres a Big Red model without the 500lb bomb, why not replace it with that?

I think if you try to make it for bf2, you will have way too much work for something what maybe even doesn't make it..

No.1) As it stands, this won't be true RP, but rather an RPG. So elements of RP, but centered around a common theme, in this case an insurgent uprising. Fighting will be one of the main focuses, unlike true RP.

No.2) There is absolutely no need for a money or job system. In all RP and RPG games all this leads to is money whoring.

No.3) There is no need for forced play, if someone wants to be a soldier they can, if someone wants to be a civilian they can, it's all down to the player. All that should be done, is pre-layed rules and objectives for all sides.

No.4) It's people like you that ruined RP, plugins/coding isn't needed for RP to be fun.
