in a way lazing is still hardcoded, what we have ingame is a fun approximation that is a pale reflection of what lazing is IRL, but its fun, its teamwork orientated and reflects a RL aspect of combat, yet it doesn't move at the speed of sound (will bounce off) is a sticky laze that rather than a constant laze, i.e you fire it and run away for 30seconds until a new one is needed, etc etc etc.
Please don't just go "there MUST be a way with X" the DEVs have got enough on their plate withot having to find new methods for things that probably cannot be done. If stuff can be done it will be investigate in due course. Only exception to this request would be if you actually arrive with the code to do it youself.
I'm not telling anybody to sit around and spend time trying to make fast ropes or some shit, but i do find it pretty silly when people (who are NOT devs) start shouting "hardcoded" about things they don't really know anything about. Especially when things that were supposedly hardcoded were proven to be possible.

The devs have effectively become experts on the BF2 engine, you are starting to sound petulant.
there have been a handful of instances in my memory where a DEV has been proven wrong regarding BF2's capabilities, sometimes a single dev has been proven wrong rather than the whole team also.

Anyone whit the experience on the forums like rudd or gazzthompson should be respected and heard. And most of the info these guys know has come from the devs and what they have reported on the forums

Time for a lock. No need for us to host pointless arguments about the definition of "hardcoded",
