In the CF our headsets are reversible so if the "specific side radio" does happen, hope it's a client side option

I had put a suggestion for a reverser effect for enemy local chat on mumble.
It would sample about a half or quarter second of audio then reverse it and continue doing that through the entire feed.
You would be able to hear them but not be able to understand what they were saying.

It never passed the suggestion censors.

I thought about that aswell, wouldnt be bad. Then again, allways local should be forced, as in local transmits even if on radio, otherwise people would just use intra squad comms and ther eins no point in doing it then.

Just a quick question: Do soldiers in the field each have a private radio to the whole squad? Aren't most orders and pieces of information past along in a one-to-the-other manner? Usually only one or two in a squad have comms, and that only to other major components of the army.
Technically, squad members should only have local available. (At the same time, they shouldn't get squad, team, or all chat. lol)

That thought did occur to me.. I remember when I installed mumble for the first time, I thought you had to walk near people to talk to them (which is role playing really, a bit embarassing :O ).

i just really really Especially on insurgency want to see all local chat being on one channel, it just made particulARILY insurgency different.
psychologically, the taunting the tricking up stairwells, the lying prone and calling medic, and riding around in the cars letting the bluefor know you own the city it gave a real vibrancy, personally im very very much in favor of
SINGLE CHANNEL LOCAL in INSURGENCY,
if the opfor dont like it they can just use squad radio, it lets the insurgents have fun.
fun
fun
fun

This wouldn't work for squads using assets.

It was fun, but it did get a bit annoying getting trolled by someone you killed.
For a day each week, that'd be my cup of tea

A in vehicle chat would be nice like in Arma 2.

I'm not sure if the Devs have access to that kind of infomation. As in, I'm not sure if the Devs can make Mumble tell the difference between gamemodes. One would have to run a single channel server until then, meaning, you might not be able to use the inter-squad radio.
