No it doesn't. Just because it's spelt with a K means absolutely nothing. If their clan tags were 3 K's strung up in a row, then yes I would agree with you. Other then that, there is NOTHING wrong with Northern Phalanx Klan (NPK).

Yes, in the US the single word clan, when used with the letter K does have strong racial connotations. It may have been hijacked by a certain group in common usage but it is there and anyone who said that they were in a clan and spelled it with a K would find the first reaction to be an assumption that it was part of the triple k.

I'm not saying that the NPK is or is not using the word in that context, I'm saying that players from the US are pretty much guaranteed to make that association on seeing it for the first time if they have basic education in history.

I see your point. But it should remain purely as an assumption imo. If their tags are =NPK= neither you or I would even be aware of what that K stands for. Now if their tags were =KLAN=, that might be stretching it out a bit. But it could easily be an acronym for anything. Anyways, enough of the rambling...there's no point arguing opinions. I'm just interested on finding out why Carbonade was banned. Let the heavy =HOG= gavel fall!

I just brought it up in case it was an honest confusion on the choice of spelling as the server is US and there is no country of origin marker in game. I'm not choosing a side or assumption

The english word "Clan" is translated in Norwegian to "Klan".
We are not racists and got nothing to do with that clan/klan you are thinking about.

I am looking forward to hear why our clan is not welcomed to the =HOG= server. There seems to be so many suggestions why we are not welcome.

I will not speculate in the reason why, but it would be nice to know why.

If some of our member break the server rules they should be punished, but you can't exclude the whole clan for this and you probably won't.

I was banned from the 3/75 server today after I POLITELY declined an invitation to join their "Realism" Clan. 2 mins later I was k/b.

Go figure.

This is for the =HOG= 24/7 Muttrah City Server, not 3/75.

There were about 6 HOG players on the server at the time btw..

The 3/75 Rangers Clan hosts a CO-OP server that a few of us have been playing on. We are not admins there. We are guests like you. You will need to post in the appropriate area for them. I could not locate their info in here. You may need to get someone to see if their info is posted in-game for you and then post on their website.

Yeah they've only had the server for 2 weeks hence no info...used to be 4ID's server.

I'm not overly fussed about though it as I'm already affiliated with the bigD servers (AU/NZ), but I was surprised and a little pissed off to say the least...

With that kind of attitude I can see why they always have trouble recruiting new members...lol

I'll just leave it, plenty more servers to choose from.

I decided to test =HOG= for myself. Everything seemed in order, played for a good hour or so as Huey pilot doing a relatively good job. Suddenly my clan wasn't welcome anymore, just as I was returning to base. Tried to land but didn't reach it...

I presume this is for the racism discussion going on since one member shouldn't be enough to ban all of us.

We've been a proud and active clan for a couple of years now and we have never been treated like this on any server because of our name. The word Klan is as stated, Norwegian for Clan, look it up if you want. We are not racist, never have, never will, even if our clan name is spelled with a highly controversial "K".

Anyways I would be careful about pointing fingers crying racism - HOG is racist, banning on tag and nothing else.

The problem is not with the clan name. Just to be very clear, there is no issue with the word clan or any derivative thereof. I have asked that a senior member of your clan come meet with me and my senior members to discuss the issue. DeeCoyA has PM'd me and we are trying to work out a time that is best for us to talk about this issue. I assure you, this is important for me. My next available time would be Wednesday, Aug 4th, after 4 PM US Mountain Time.

My issue this evening has been resolved. I spoke with Romeo and we worked everything out. He is a decent, polite and rational person and I think that any grievances that are taken up with him can be handled fairly. As for the rest of the HOG admins, well... only time will tell.
