1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Especially significant FPS decrease on some maps but not killing my game play. And some graphic anormality (especially on ground graphics while flying)

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
8

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Not played all of them detailed yet. Will update as I play more

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.

3

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Fallujah West, Gaza Beach, Lashkar Valley

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
Fallujah West - Anyone where on map when looking through the city. Only good part is when near edge looking out of map. Pretty much everywhere in other words.
Gaza Beach - entire city area
Lashkar Valley - everywhere except looking out from edge of map.

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
Al Basrah and Ramiel seem to be unaffected since 0.87.

p.s. With 0.87 I played most settings on high and some AA and could usually expect 35-90FPS (almost all 50FPS+ but I think maybe Fallujah was a bit of a drag sometimes). With 0.9 I am playing all settings low just to be able to play a half decent performing game but get anywhere from 15-90FPS. The majority of the affected maps are played at 15-40FPS, but on average 25FPS.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Yes. Especially on new maps around buildings area. FPS changes from 100 at
forest to 15 or even less at city.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
8 Old maps
6 Beirut and Silent Eagle
1 Other new maps - almost unplayable due to extreme FPS loss when close to buildings.

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Dragon Fly, Gaza Beach, Iron Ridge , Lashkar Valley, Siege at Ochamachira

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
Always the same - immediate FPS loss when one quadrant to buildings.
5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
Asad Khal, not sure about others - will test further.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?

Yes.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.

About a 7, getting framerate drops, whereas I would never notice any framerate drops in .87.

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.

Mostly been Gaza Beach. Looking into the city from the main road for example causes severe framerate drop. Or looking up at the sky. Lashkar Valley, in the fields next to the water, I get somewhat framerate drop.

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.

I have not tried all of the maps yet, but the older ones seem fine.

Previous post where I got absolutely horrible FPS no matter what settings I used (including all low and AA off): https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... ost1259744

I made the following changes to my video card control center and my frames have been restored to their previous rates, I even turned on 16x AA enhancement:
Turned on trilinear filtering.
Turned Anti-Aliasing Transparency to Multisampling
Turned on negative LOD bias to on
Anistropic filtering to on
Triple buffering to on

I also set the Windows page file to a set equal min and max size.

System Specifications

* Operating System : Windows XP64 Service Pack 2
* CPU : AMD X2 4400+
* Graphics Card : Nvidia GTS 250
* Amount of RAM : 4 GB
* Sound Card : Onboard Realtek AC97

BF2 Graphics Settings

* Terrain : High
* Effects : High
* Geometry : High
* Texture : Med
* Lighting : High
* Dynamic Shadows : Med
* Dynamic Light : Med
* Anti-Aliasing : 4x
* Texture Filtering : High

I also lowered all settings to low/off and reduced view distance to 80% and have the same FPS results

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?

After above changes my FPS has gone from unplayable at any setting to the same rates as .87.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.

10

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.

Gaza beach is the only one I have had a chance to play online > mid city FPS is about 25, but that was the same as during beta testing.

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.

Looking towards groups of trees or large groups of the new buildings hit the card the hardest.

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.

Fool's Road is the only one I had time to fully explore after fixing the settings above, the fix increased my FPS from 15 or less shortly after the .9 install to 45-75 FPS depending on map location, slightly higher than .87.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Yes, before it was only super slow when in the middle of a huge firefight with half the server within 100m, now its quite random. On some maps it depends on which direction Im facing, and where everyone else is.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
Bout a 4, .87 was about a 5-6. Every now and then .9 is sweet, then it goes to teh dogs again.

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
I havent played all the maps yet, but I'll do my best!
Gaza Beach.
Dragon Fly.
Siege at Ochamachira.
Fallujah West.

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
Parts of Gaza, actually most of the city, the peninsula and walled area to the east are ok even in firefights. Sometimes it depends on which direction Im facing, in several of the buildings on the south side of Gaza City I would have slide shows facing north, smooth as it ever gets facing west, east, or south. Strangely on the roof it was ok, seemed to be only inside the building's caused the issues.
Dragon Fly, unplayable with more than 10 on the server, slide shows everywhere. The tanks slowed things down to about 1 frame every 2-3 seconds!
Siege at Ochamachira, especially in the center area of the complex, slowed to about 5 FPS or lower.
Fallujah West, the LAV causes slide shows, HMMV's/Insurgent vehicles seem to be fine (although I still cant drive/ ride the dirtbikes! Thats a problem with me, not the computer or game!!)

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
Lashkar Valley seems fine, looks nice even with everything on low!
Iron Ridge, havent found anything there that causes issues, and Ive walked almost everywhere.
Beirut is fine.
Fools Road is still good, possibly better than .87.
Quinling is definitely better than .87.
Kashan seems the same.
Asah Khal is about the same, (I do like the M16, its sweet!).
Thats all I can remember right now, hope it helps.

On thing which Im not sure is game related or just my old PC being weird again.
I have a Radeon 9800 GT 128 video card which I tried to see if it would help, but it was worse and caused more CTD/ video issues than the 9600 playing PR, yet made everything else better.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?

I hadn't played for almost a year until now, so I am not sure what version I was using then but compared to 0.9, yes there has been a significant performance decrease on certain types of maps.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.

I would give it a 5

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.

Gaza beach, Muttrah city, and Fallujah (worst of them all)

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.

Slowdowns only occur when looking in the direction of a mass of those custom pr buildings like the ones from the above mentioned maps. There is definitely an un-optomized feel to those maps since I could be staring at a blank wall but have my computer chugging just because behind that wall is a whole city.

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.

All maps without those huge detailed apartment buildings that you can go inside run just fine.

Edit: I would like to add that I tried turning my graphics all the way down but experienced no performance increase.

YES!! Pr .87 ran fine on these settings with average of 60-70 FPS or more no i can get down to 2-3 FPS on some maps but now i average around 30-40 FPS in .9

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.

4

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.

Lashkar, Fallujah West, Silent Eagle

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.

Mostly in built up city areas i get the most lag in these maps and when fighting breaks out i drop down to 2-3 fps (happens of lashkar in the city (never had this problem on .87 versions of maps)

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
...(all now have some sort of lag to them)

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Oh yes. On some maps, inside city areas FPS drops down to 15-20. You get a feeling that the problem is not your card. Its more a feeling that its something wrong with the map, mostly how the map is build.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
5/10

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Siege at Ochamachira
Silent Eagle
Gaza Beach

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
Siege at Ochamachira, very beutiful map but heavily low fps inside the city area. Feels unormal.
Silent Eagle, Very low fps inside the Church area. Feels unormal.
Gaza Beach, inside the city area low fps. Feels unormal.

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
Asad Khal, Albasra. Most maps do work very fine outside city areas, no matter how big the map is, but when it comes to city areas the fps drops heavily. Al Basra has a perfet way of proving that a map can have both without problems.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Yes on most maps i have played, which are the new ones

2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
3 on maps i have tried so far, which are the new ones and falluja

3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Fallujah West,Gaza Beach ??Siege at Ochamchira??

4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
its mostly when your in a city area like the small one in silent eagle, and always when you look towards the center of the map

5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
Haven't played havent really tried too many of the old ones

EDIT: ive noticed on Muttrah there is a SLIGHT FPS drop and it plays a little choppy, like i glitch around a little

Additional info on old maps: some other players and i have experienced some FPS drop while looking towards the center of the map on Qwai, but this might be because the increased view distance
