Thanks Doc, nice Model btw.
So im working on a cross department project in college. the film students, costume designers, model designers, and animators (well a small handfull from each department) are collaborating on a short action sequence. I am tasked with making this interior. Im making the model in maya and handing it off to another guy who will texture it in max as per his instructions. (easy college points for me, it goes towards my grade...and so do the maya tutorials im doing! easiest year yet apart from the shitty academics. God I hate essays!

)

you gotta put it in an image bracket...when your making a post theres a little icon called "insert image" put your URL in that.
also 3dsmax is a leading cause of baldness

Fixed the image, it's a XA-185/188/203 Pasi. (By the way the FDF comfac already has it modeled, incase you were wondering).
That's a pretty hard task to take on for a first model. Maybe you should try something like a simple bullet / barrel / crate? Atleast that's what i did when i started modeling

the question is why are you making such enormous test renders?

Thanks for image help!
Thank god someone modelled it because it looks 1000x better than my model.
I wanted to help the faction as fast as i can so i looked some youtube tutorials and started the modelling. I rewind a little bit and start with simpler things.
I remember that someone said "one does not simply walk into modelling". I must say, he`s right.

What id suggest is you start with a very simple static which you do from start to end. I suggest a simple non enterable shed or a nice prop like a nice chair or somethin. This way you develop basics in all skils and enyoj seeing your work ingake later
