Hai
After taking a long breath, perhaps caused by the embarrassment of showing my very first attempt at modelling a vehicle, i come up with this.
So this should be a Carro Veloce CV.35, Italian tankette from WW2. I know there are better Carro Veloces out there, but this one is mine, and I'm f*cking proud of it!
I picked this project because it looks pretty simple. After following a great Glock tutorial, which i haven't finished yet, i couldn't resist and i started modelling some stuff. One of these "models" is this sexy Tankette. For those who don't know what a CV35 is:

Yes, it shots square bullets, hehe.
I don't wanna make this post too long, but let me add that the model needs a lot of work, the machineguns should not be square, but i don't know how to model them properly (In fact, i don't know how to model round stuff, see the back of the tankette, that's my biggest nightmare!). Some details are missing and need to be done, but i have a lot to learn and i hope i can finish my little Tankette!
Basically i've put all i know into this model, I'm experimenting a lot with it
Thanks and wish me luck.

Cool. Also, square bullets were supposedly extremely effective against Islamic enemies, at least according the guy who created the Puckle Gun (his name was Puckle methinks).

Looking like a nice start, torenico. Only the tracks shouldnt come out of the main hull, they are quite lower than it is. Round stuff you can get by creating cylinders and then welding them into the main model where needed.
For those barrels just select the longer edges and chamfer them, it will leave you with an 8-gon, which is round enough for a 3p model
EDIT: Kaland, those little details just below the expolsive might not bake properly, would be better to make them bigger
Share the result of the bake with us, please!

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
Yeah, turns out that terrain covers are too small for CTRifle's goddamn 4 km terrain, so i need to make them larger. For 6 statics. Each one 7 visible models. FML.'[USF wrote:Doc.Pock;1862484']any update lucky?
For some meaningful pictures, i would wait for CTR to post some in his map thread, so you can judge in the context of the map.
I did some bunkers statics in the meanwhile

Thinking about covering the first one with dirt, too.
Fine work on that dart btw

Nice statics Lucky. Be sure to check the entrances and firing ports/windows with the playermodel templates (located somewhere in pr files...) to check if they're the correct height etc.

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
Looks nice Lucky but modelling dirt/terrain is always a bad move if it can be avoided as making it blend and work well (with no zfighting etc) with the normal terrain is pretty hard to do for both the modeller and mapper.
If there is any way these bunkers can be used by mappers without the dirt, I would make the dirt a separate object you snap on, or make two versions of the same static, with and without dirt (if you save a significant amount of LM space from removing hidden faces).
But the best thing is to look into a way it can work with BF2's terrain without any modelled terrain.
