I wrote up a post on automatic weapons in the tactics forums (of questionable value, I will admit) but I do not agree in the slightest that the SAW is just for suppression.elerik wrote:O finally we are geting to better battle tactic![]()
SAW is alltimes just for surpression. Small round and bigger fire area. And two other men could settle thair deviation and fire precisely. Thay are covered. And other three guys can easly move to flank and fire from flank. But SAW gunner have to know how to use this powerfull weapon. tatatatatatatatatatata isnt efective. better is tatata ..1 - 3 sec.. tatatata ..1 - 3 sec.. tatata ect. You can fire like that almost two minutes without reloading!!!
Btw suppression is for making noise. In noise thay will not see coming granade enemies, or reinforcments or supplying
You know enemy is behind hill. Covering fire doesnt mean "waintg for visual contact" it means. fire to that hill and dont let him look out whats going on. Easy. Effective. Fast advance, using granades and surrpress and most of PR players dont have chance.
For goguapsyand you have chance to have 0 death at the end of game

While, when properly used, it definitely is a mainstay of the most effective employment of the AR kit, carefully aimed fire is extremely effective on targets at all ranges.
The farther your target, the shorter your bursts should be. Targets that are spread out are much harder to suppress at any appreciable range, not only because you constantly have to cycle between them, but experienced players know that suppression-length bursts beyond a specific distance (weapon dependent) are very inaccurate. When taking on targets of this nature, adjusting fire to put them in the beaten zone of impact or otherwise maximizing volume of fire for interdiction of the specific area they must expose themselves in to return fire requires extremely short ( <1 second) bursts. The effect is suppressive by default, but also maximizes the potential to actually score a hit. As most targets taking cover only expose the upper body/head ANY hit is potentially devastating.
