thanks for all the advice and although i've not run any benchmarks or anything, it does feel pretty slick and smooth.
@declan, what gfx settings are you running, looks like were both in the same boat with the GPU now being the 'weakest link' haha

To be honest, it doesn't seem to matter what setting I use, I still get rubbish performance. I only get bad FPS on Metro in the park area, with the trees. In the actual tube station I get brilliant performance. I try to play it with everything cranked up as far as it will go, because the whole reason I bought my PC was to enjoy games on high settings!
