They have been shot there by some high caliber gun in their KW-1. Even the projectile bounced off the armor, it still managed to knock the crew unconscious. I bet sitting in a metal can being hit by another piece of metal going with the speed of sound isn't a very neat experience.
Lugi you cant really compare MBTs from WWII and nowadays modern tanks ;D

very nice idea, i like it.
I bet you cant look straight forward when your tank is hit by a apfsds round
Im not quite sure Ill ask around. My cousin was in MBT unit when he served the army but I don't know if he got any field experience. I guess there is some kind of impact effect but not sure if crew can be injured by it.

You'll be lucky to be alive if you get hit from a modern MTB main cannon. There aren't many people alive to tell that tale, if any

Around 1:26 that video shows another thing that would be nice, all of the smoke rolling up into the air when you hit a target.

Yeah splatters if youre in a Toyota
But most of modern tanks have an active protection against that type of ammunition and it depends where you are being hit. Sure in some places it can kill you instantly but likewise on some it can only shake you a bit.
You're right, but I'm sure that 'little shake' would be enough for a suppression effect in PR at least
For example reactive armour is basically a strong explosive strapped on your tank hull and I don't think it's a pleasant experience when one of those off with you inside the tank, even if it saves your life. If nothing else it would be loud as hell.

umm not really
also i agree with adding a moke effect after a hell hits but I am not sure if that is possible

I agree, a similar effect should be felt much like when mortars and bombs/missiles strike.
However isn't there ballistic protection placed on modern armor to counteract situations like this?
If anything the boots on the ground and vehicles around especially those in close proximity/on the cupola gun positions should feel a suppression effect of sorts.

Dont crewmembers wear helmets that mitigate all that noise, so they are not shaken up by their own cannonfire?

One thing to keep in mind is that a tank is a welded steel box in most cases, and whilst it may have advanced armor patterns to mitigate the effect of an armor-piercing round, a depleted uranium penetrator moving at 2km/s is going to have a reverberating effect throughout the tank, even though it may not penetrate to the interior.
I support this idea, its realistic and more importantly a great gameplay dynamic. Armor fights would come down to communication, teamwork and positioning as opposed to trick shots or ganging up.

Can we at least agree that the current sound for getting hit needs to be louder. A lot louder

... And make sure it plays every time you get hit as driver and gunner.

Should this apply to APC cannons as well? i feel it would be fair enough to add it so an APC crew can fire on a tank and bug off in the confusion. as it stands now the moment you are spotted by a tank the APC is dead if they don't GTFO immediately. afterall i'm sure a 30/40mm round would do some damage to optics and sights if you were to hit them, or other wise the flash from impact would cause the white balance to get out of whack for a second.
