Karbala, i think it should have the build-up area increased.... but, if the map is getting a facelift, its up to the mapper. gave them some ideas by putting photoshop skills to work...maybe someone will get a positive feeback

In karbala, and basrah, there are some caches that are totally impossible to defend. But, there are some that the INS are able to defend for a very long time, using their tactics such as bridge destruction, mining, mortaring, bombcars, and everything we love to use as the INS. The indefensible caches are always situated outside the main urban areas in places such as farms with basically no walls, or cover, or strips of housing with vast stretches of desert behind them leaving them totally vulnerable to armour attacks.

If some caches are defendable, to the point where either side has to give a fair fight over it, and some are to the point where it's a waste of time even bothering to set up defense there, then we can say that parts of the map are balanced, and parts arent. The logical thing would be to redesign the whole map so ALL of it is balanced. HOw do we do this? remove blufor assets? lolno. HOw many times do you see the abrams rolling around in the heart of karbala? never. The kiowa flying right over the city? risky.

If the city in the maps were totally expanded to be 2x2 kilometers, or close to it, then despite BLUFOR's tanks, and choppers and such, the Insurgents are still able to defend all their caches.

Personally, I dont want the maps to be removed, just a v2 version with more city.

simply put karbala is a dinosaur and feels like it was just put togetha in a hurry.
Now having said that it needs,
more walls
more trenches
more debris
the southern warehouses need to be defendable, ie.walls, towers,
even one of these circular fields> http://www.eosnap.com/public/media/2008/11/agriculture/foto-circularfields-full.jpg
or More SCRUB to allow ins to shimmy around. at the sides of banks or connecting open areas

we need a karbala day2
after the city got pawned

if we are talking change in game mechanics, caches shud only need to be defended for 40 mins before a ins win is declared. Then move onto next cache.

having said that it is great almost a poor mans ramiel, ins maps with kiowas are fun

How about some tunnels? Sure BLUFOR can camp them, but it's no match for the man spam + smoke nades. This could link a number of areas so BLUFOR has less of an idea where the INS are.

Another option is permant respwaning rally points. These rallies would be at major placeslike the village in Basrah. Normally the BAF can just camp near the village to stop any hideouts going up there. With a rally if the BAF ingore the area after a while new INS guys can join the battle from there (AKA spwan). The rallies would work like FOBs, not like the 5 min preplaced rallies that can't be overrun. An interesting side effect would be that BLUFOR wouldn't know if there was a cache in the area based off INS being there. Even better it would stop noobs from just sitting in INS main when there are no hideouts.

Could be nice if the perma-spawn moved every 15 min to a random location, can they do that?

... if you have a bad team as insurgent, don't even bother playing Basrah... Karbala is manageable the city is big enough so you are not raped by apcs and tanks all the time .

Basrah
the worst thing is not being able to request kits in the cache... the AT and AA kit gets easily lost by someone else and you are left to die shredded by tanks and apcs... helicopters bringing infantry hahaha. I can count in the fingers of one hand the times i could get the AA kit...

It's hard for a squad to make a difference in the battle... when in times of need we can't have access to our weapons ratio.

When playing with a good team Basrah is quite fun ... but sometimes that's to much to ask.

the helicopter insertion in Basrah are killers to ... make the hunt for unknowns easier.

to even the odds a little insurgent should be able to request kits. more AA, AT and other kits that will make easier to defend a cache.
