The effect of each word is the same, although yes, they do have different meanings, and yes overriding is actually what is happening, they both would have the same outcome in the non-literal sense.
you still haven't answered my question on how you've claimed its possible to get past this problem without working around it.

I would advise against that. What's most likely going to happen is that you're going to load in, spawn, etc. See a laser show of tracer rounds fit for a Star Wars battle scene, and then get kicked for an MD5 mismatch error.

Map mounted "No friendly soldiers on minimap" fix
Tested and working

Sounds great if this can work online. No problems with PB?

That wasnt the only reason
But i have no interest in wasting my time explaining things to someone, who thinks he know far more about coding, then he does
If you want to discuss this further,do it in a PM
Have a nice day

The method i used,as mentioned above
Has been working for one of my maps, played by hundreds/thousands online, without any problems whatsoever, for over 1 year now

... I have no idea where you have got this problem with me from but w/e.
And ye, if your going to explain how you did this, don't you think it might be better not doing it over PMs where multiple people can see how its done, rather than telling everyone who wants to know individually?
I don't claim to be a wizard coder, I'm more of an all rounder, mapper, modeller, exporter etc. I just know what the engine is capable of from working with it and other coders.
If there is something new then that would be a massive step forward, would open up a lot of doors but I, nor any of the coders I know, knows anything about this way of overriding files though a file loaded by a map, as you have claimed above.
So unless there is some big reason why it can't be posted on the forums, I don't see no reason why not to post it here, or on the BFeditor forums etc so everyone knows about it and can use it, which is only good for everyone?

I was referring discussing the double facepalm picture,in a PM
That wasnt the only reason
NOT anything to do with the modding of the minimap
If I didnt want to discuss anything with the modding,in the forum, why did I make the post above your last one, which reads
The method i used,as mentioned above
Has been working for one of my maps, played by hundreds/thousands online, without any problems whatsoever, for over 1 year now

And the method is?
EDIT: or are you just talking about adding a texture suffix to the texture atlas/minimap icon like you said before and there is no new method of overriding content directly?

I would really like that for the night layer of the upcomming para version of Operation Overlord.

You want to hide friendlies on that map? Why?

No VOIP
No squad mumble
One same local mumble for both team
No friendlies on map
^Perfect event and immersion like you really landed and got to find friendlies while being carefull at not making too much sounds
We would see blue people regrouping (no whole squads, since the landing will be chaotic) and attacking positions.

May I suggest also not showing floating playernames above frendlies on that map? Well, combined with drakness and random spawns it could lead to a TK fest, but you might try it!
This way when you hear somebody 3 meters from you, you are not sure sure what side he belongs to because of his name floating above him, but you have to be more careful.

If I recall correctly this was discussed when 128 servers started. There was discussion if its better to have some players without name tags and some with them, or if its better to remove name tags alltogether. so there might be some way to do this, but i really dont know. Im no coder

Well, not a Bf2 coder at least

Can an admin or moderator, please delete/cancel my account here
As I have no further interest in being part of, or helping a Community, where some Dyslexic kid with an attitude,is constantly questioning and doubting my modding information/knowledge,
and refuses to acknowledge or apologize for his misunderstandings
You know something Rhino,I have helped out AIX,FH2,NAW,USI,First Strike,Combat Mod,BOMSF Racing Mod,Nuke Mod,Battleships Mod,Stargate Mod and many more
And have never had my modding knowledge questioned or doubted,as much as I have by you, here
I have spent far more time replying to you, then it would take, to thoroughly explain how to remove the soldiers from the minimap
Goodbye and have a nice day

Oh, Natty doubted your coding capability way more than Rhino did and it went the same way, that's how you react.
"Hey guys it's possible, look I've done"
"Is it possible online, are you sure"
"Wow you question my modding knowledge, f*ck it I won't share it with you"
We will do without it, thanks for your "help"

I only see one person with an attitude problem here, and it isn't Rhino. Rhino politely asked a question to which you responded with something along the lines of, "Double Facepalm." All that reply showed us was that you considered yourself better than the coders in this thread. Perhaps you are, but no one wants to see you shove it in their faces.
When asked again how one would remove friendlies from the map, you merely posted a picture and didn't explain how you did it. So Rhino politely asked again. Then you start ranting about how people are questioning you about such simple things. YES. THAT'S THE POINT. The point of these forums is to share information on coding/modding.
As if that wasn't enough, you then say, "I have spent far more time replying to you, then it would take, to thoroughly explain how to remove the soldiers from the minimap." Really?
TLDR; You tell us there's a way. We ask you how to do it. You frolic around with an elitist -snip- attitude and tell us we're not worthy.

I think there's been a bit of a misunderstaning about Rhino's intent... I couldn't see any obvious slight on your ability or calling your credibility into doubt.
Anyhows, I've reported your post so your account can be removed as requested.
Sorry to see you go

Devilman, I'm sorry you feel this way and think that I'm to blame but I've been over my posts a few times now, and asked multiple (unbiased) people if I've done anything wrong here just to be absolute sure and both myself and them can't see anything wrong with what I've said...
First of all, I can't see anywhere where I've "questioned or doubted" your modding ability/knowledge. The only thing I've asked is for you to explain how you have said something can be done as "Maps can override mod loaded content,by using a temp file in the map", doesn't go into any detail on what to do or how it works.
As for misunderstanding you, its kinda hard to work out what your trying to say when you only give a one sentience response to something quite complicated.
I also don't believe I've ever been rude to you, even when you've attack me with a double facepalm picture for using the wrong word and even now when you have also tried the "Dyslexic kid with an attitude" attack... In fact I even complimented you on your original idea of using a texture suffix on a menu atlas as that one hadn't crossed anyones minds here, which I also take it is the way you removed the minimap icons off the map, but what I was most interested in was the bit I was asking you to explain.
Another coder round here willing to help to community would be a major asset but not if he's going to take offence to being asked to explain how he has archived something and attack people as a result.
I do however, hope you can reconsider leaving and we can start on a fresh page
