With "re-creation" of the real historic event it would be realistic if there's a A1H plane and gunship-hueys, and faster spawning trans choppers could be useful to avoid a possible fail of the US team, by lacking transport.
I guess the map has never been played with 200 players before (played it on 128 though) so we might adjust some vehicle settings to handle the mass of players (and the specific rules of the event).
Reenactment is probably the 'correct' word...lol. No, it won't be a reenactment in the true sense of the word - one can only do so much within the confines of Project Reality anyway!

I have no clue how to do this myself, so there will be no modified version of the map for this event. The original PR:V Ia Drang Valley (Large/128 layer) will be used - it will work as intended, trust me.

If you or someone else would want to create a modified version of the map or a different map for future events, that would be great!

If the US team fails, they fail. Simple as that! Then the NVA team wins. What fun would it be if the outcome of the battle was predetermined?

I think I'll skip this one until I have some more experience, this stuff doesn't sound basic!

So thanks for your help, and I may battle alongside you in the future :)

So only players who sign up will be able to play in the event?

If we don't get enough signups any players who participate in the initial briefing round will be able to play. If we do get 100/100 signed up, you best be on the list of reserves if you wanna get in!

no because if the FO is under assault, where can you actually place the RP?

gonna love this.

I sadly have no mapping experience at all, and can't change it on my own. Just thought that it wouldn't be hard to change the vehicle settings for someone who's into the topic (even a bit).

Probably you're right, Large Layout with 128 may be enough, though this event makes it much harder for US though they are not allowed to spawn on FOBs, so trans choppers will fly all the time, which makes it easier to crash/shoot them down.
And if 100 players are in main and only 1-2 choppers are left, it would be such a mess up of the whole event. Just saying, but I guess you're right, it's US team's fault then.
But you know, sometimes shit happens, even for a good pilot.

Are pilots allowed to use use mumble squad radio instead of the local? IRL they had radios in those helis and were able to communicate.

Yes, of course. It's more about the idea of it - no-one's gonna kick you out for using squad chat every now and then. For one it'll be needed to coordinate where to spawn, like usual. The rule is there to increase immersion for the infantry, not to make things harder for the pilots.

Woooow, Yeeeeeah! THIS rule is EPIC for sure!!! Should also be used in PN(ormandy) and maybe normal PR too??? (DOES every soldier in the USMC or US army have headset or so?)

"All communication below Squad Leader level are local Mumble only - no radio for grunts. Pass the information up the line!" :D :D :D

This'll get soooo real, with PR players from the US participating for sure, like screaming via local mumble to ur SL from 30m distance or so... xD Aaaaawesome, THAT'll cause even MORE REAL battle-feelings!!! :D
