Helis and inf was coming around 20 meters close to us during ceasefire, told my guys to fire, since you (us) were either scouting us or actually attacking us. However these were must likely lonewolves and bored pilots, however, ceasefire doesn't mean WW1 Christmas, it means fall back, regroup, get some ammo and plan the next attack. Accidentally neutralized a flag, either before or after ceasefire.

Well I could write much more, however I would rather not (time). The event was a success, my friend who has been playing PR for a few months enjoyed it and so did I. However leading a squad with 8-9 public players took a bit of explaining, 2 of my guys Adje300 and DildoOfDaDoom14 never showed up. However a great experience though, definitely learned something. Leading 14-15 guys for 2 hours isn't something you can do everyday. I would like it to be a bit smaller and perhaps a bit more hardcore, some people seemed to jump in for a lol or two. I also got team killed behind the lines from a guy who shot at me for about 30 seconds.

Apart from some randomnesses, awesome!

I survived, you were just noobcakes.

Overall I had some fun killing FOBs (lost count of how many) and calling in mortars/CAS. I was a bit disappointed that I disconnected several times.

Well I made it to the treeline even though they emptied around 10 AK magazines on me but then I bled out when I reached it :<

Recommendations:

Shorter Briefing Period
An hour to brief? No, I have better things to do with my life. We can do that faster too.
1) If the Sl's have a prepared script that they can quickly brief their squad with (15 min) + time for late comers
2) Get in game, organize everyone and figure out kits (10 min)
3) Restart round & Go (4 min)

Event admins should also act faster in setting up the correct server settings.

I don't understand why we briefed for an hour... and don't get me wrong, I'm appreciative for your work (Event Admins, Oskar), just some constructive criticism.

Also,
More Often Events
We should be running events at least once a month, if not every other weekend. Simple stuff that doesn't take much briefing, but with sign-ups for at least leader positions (CO, PL, SL, & FTL), Pilots & perhaps heavy assets.
Password only on the forums

This event seemed to consist of 2 well coordinated teams with about 100 players each, I've never seen that! So GREAT accomplishment in that respect, now we need to increase simplicity & amount of firefights!

GJ to those who orchestrated the whole thing.

What I would have LOVED to see would be an actuall "cutoff platoon" at the flag, that would have needed backup.

Actually the server was up over an hour early and the teams were briefed by the set start time. However constant connection issues I think slowed a lot down. Its usually the servers that slow everything. I've seen PRT battles take longer to start so with a more stable mode than 200 person servers I imagine delays would much less. I believe exactly 1 min before we went live a mass CTD meant that half the US squads weren't even formed at live from all the drops. Not much anyone can do about that even if they're perfectly organized.

PRTA NA is going to be launching events separate from PRTA EU events so there will be a marked increase in events in the coming month. Also the first PRTA NA event is just going to be a sign up for SL event where set commanders pick their SLs and then they open the server to pubbies.

I agree though, more events cause for all its faults this event was exciting as hell.

Sabre did most of the organisation, aswell as Sproge doing a brilliant job of using his own initiative when I couldn't reach him, but I think our fire team didn't go so bad, apart from the fact most of my recordings seem to involve me following a charge order and then a quick "wounded" coming up XD

I was an event admin but Like arc_shielder had really nothing to admin, I saw 170 mature players enjoying this awesome event :) Hats off to Oskar and Sabre. Also a special thanks to ron, the way your formations flew together was something I have never seen before, your boys can fly me anytime! Pfunk,Ploddit and the entire command of both sides also did a nice job holding the realism and tactical aspect high!

The reason the briefing took so long is because of server side setting issues, and a massive CTD on the US side. If those things wouldn't have happened it was merely gonna take 20min.

Anyway, I can tell that PRTA will organize more of these in the future, but just ask Oskar and Sabre, it is not as easy as you think to organize something like this ;) I also hope other communities will step up and organize more events. Cause it are these things that make us love this game so much!

+1 to everything you said, my video shows how epic your formations were, Ron!

Best game of PR I've ever played, Period.

Just also as a heads up, how should I make my video? IE, 2/3 BIG BIG BIG Clips (like 1 hour), or lots of little ones?

show the best parts (chopper formations, ambushes, pushing up the lines, retreating). in- squad briefings, death screens and boring stuff is not amusing to watch :) . Cut it down to 1 video of 30 minutes and you have a very good video!

Little ones, no one wants to watch 1 hour at a stretch, at least I dont want to ;)
Get some nice scenes together and make some smaller clips 3-5 minutes each I'd say.

I'm going for the half hour one, Seems easier to do for me as it's one upload and I can have a big highlights reel rather than seperated good bits :P

Much has already been said.

A battle like this with 200 players was only something you could dream of years ago.
I sincerely hope we will have more of these 200 player events in the future, fantastic job Oskar and the rest of the organising team.

I was on the NVA side with Tiger Platoon, responsible for building Forward Operating Bases, supplies and mortars close to the front line.
We had to deal with CAS on our mortar positions and counter-artillery barrages plus the occasional enemies forces that had moved behind our lines taking down our FOBs.

We didnt see a lot of action, yet the logistical part of a battle is crucial. No logistics = battle will be lost.
Good work to Ploddit as the Commander of the NVA team and overall good job the to NVA infantry Platoons fighting against the US team. +1

Fantastic event, like I said in the other thread. I speak for everyone when I say we hope to see more 200 player events in the near future ! Great work.

*** Here is a short video from one of our members. It's clear to conclude that CAS was a success..

Thank you ladies and gentlemen for the feedback keep it coming. Myself and oskar are all taking this on board and perfecting these events. Alot of time and effort do go into these and it take at least a good month to work out ideas to make it realistic and exciting for you the players. I would like to say this Currently i am working on another event with Oskar as the partnership of Deliverence and Ia Drang has really worked, on maybe a two event night, but back up in the modern period with the stuff that has worked.

That is all i can say for now but keep watching the PR community section for more information over the coming months.

Real Bad no need to say... :o ops: :o ops:

The tight formation 1-2-2-2-1 (8 Helos) was epic but unfortunately I kept the role play while landing and crashed it, quickly understood that the UH34 couldn't be used in a Huey formation.

The event was fun, the 1channel mumble is still missing (Hear the enemies), and the 200p mumble lag is always frustrating.

Has a Pilot was also fun to see the map and see FULL 22 men Squads being wiped out and spawn at main to a new ride. :D
