Personal CTDs [crash to desktop] are your own computer's issues... that's not necessarily a PR thing.
actually id agree with that, but the thing is its not only me. many players from my community experience the same thing since the pb update (including the PB kicks and connection errors).
therefore im not sure if its all of our computers which suddenly went crazy. maybe theres a correlation!
im gonna reinstall my OS within the next days anyway, so... yea, lets see!

To make matters worse, mass PB kicks for packet loss sure is giving everyone a hard time
Yesterday I saw dtacs' entire INF squad on Beirut disappear into thin air. Spooky.

has anyone ever examined the auto-deploy feature as a possible cause of crashes. I have noticed after using it sometimes that people will say DDOS attack like there was just a huge lag spike right before I entered using it. AND today I play CIA fine for almost 4 hours and then as it fills up I get packet loss and then the server is full. I can't imagine that 4-5 people using auto-deploy at once on a full server WOULDN'T have any affect.

Double negative, What do you mean? That if 4-5 people use auto deploy it DDOses the server?
That cant be possible, you need atleast 100s of people doing that.

No way 4 - 5 people using auto deploy will crash a server, I'm sure they tested that.

I7 960
12 GB RAM
1TB HDD
100meg dedicated connection.
Cost alot crashes little. Money does help stability so if you want to help...................
CTD crashes - Buggy textures, old graphics driver, Over heating PC, Buggy PR code.
Server crashes - Going from a large AAS map to an INS map, Long round 3 hour+ changing map layer alt to standard.
Some maps just dont run well together ie Fallujha to Asad khal will crash our server 80% of the time. Iron Eagle to Black Gold crashes.
Al Basrah to Kabala has a poor record.
So adding in the !mapvote and admins selecting a map that doesnt run well togeather can cause crashes. Ive notice our server is crashing more on map load and mid round since we enabled the map vote.
Thats why at NwA we run one AAS and one INS server, lot less crashes keeping the two game styles seperate. When we ran one mixed server we had to be real careful with the map list. Thats why we used to get accused of stale map lists, but never get accused of a server that crashes alot.

Orford hit the nail on the head right there, stability comes from learning and consitancy of map choice, sadly this leads to people playing the same 4 maps every day but thats beside the point, i would rather play one map 4 days in a row than have a server crash every other map. 4 years of experience tells me its not the map that shapes the game, its the players, anyway.
