Re: [Model] Tigercat SAM (PR:F) [WIP]
I work on it less then I'd like to, because the summer is more busy than i though it will be
. I made some progress though, but most of it is reworking parts that were made w/o Turbosmooth tool. And then I had these corrupted saves, that was like 5 hours of work lost.
Id love to post some new screens, but I am in quite a hurry right now, I will post them when i get back to this PC, in 5 days.

Nice work! I would still say your edges are a bit tight though, I know it seems strange to make them a bit unrealistic but otherwise they catch so little light that they become quite pointless for rounding edges.

For this bit I would say its still too tight, as you can see on this http://i.imgur.com/jQ1j9.jpg It aliases really badly and you can barely tell it is rounded when you zoom out.
Keep it up your doing a good job

Nice, keep up the good work!
I still think your small round surfaces are still too small but tbh, I wouldn't worry about it as there isn't much you can do about it tbh with surfaces that small. Unless Tim or anyone else has any ideas that is.

Hey guys, i got an idea, seeing how little refs i have, especially high resolution ones and as they are all taken from kinda same angles, i have decided to let YOU give me more refs
If you happen to be going to a military museum which is housing a Tigercat, please make sure to take as many photos of it as you can. Maybe even plot a weekend trip to one of these museums?
If somebody would do this, he would earn himself his own internet cookie moountain:

Nobodys gonna do this ... : (

Thanks for those refs Rhino, but you get the cookie mountain only if you proof that you've been there
Btw Yorkshire sounds pretty good, i am plotting on going to Scotland next summer with possibly spending a night or two in York and doing some hiking around it, might as well visit that musem. On the other hand, god help me if I will be modelling this thing next summer
And the only other museum i know about is South African National Museum of Military History

Well technically even thou its a British made AA system, the land based version was only used by the Argentinians during the war as the Brits sold them this "obsolete (even back in 1982) AA system" to them a few years before the war began, along with other Brit weapons like 1000lb bombs that where eventually turned against the Brits40mmrain wrote:Aw man it looks awesome so far, can't wait to blast some mirages with it.
Luckily the Tigercat didn't score any kills during the war thou, although the Seacat (naval based version) did score a few kills, as well as a few friendly fire interdicts
So ye, you will only be able to blast some Harriers and Brit choppers with it, unless I make it a place-holder for the Rapier AA system when it gets done which I may well do if no one has finished the Rapier by then
