Cheers man. I find digesting long text incredibly difficult, so watching a video of the instructions might be easier for me, though spoon fed is much more easier due to the instructions being immediately before you carry out the action.

If anyone is prepared to let me suckle on their bosom, I will be grateful.**

Spawning objects in a local server guide:

1.Start a local server.

2. Once spawned in ingame bring up chat ( default j,k,l keys).

3. Type in:

rcon debug

A message should appear saying '*Debug Enabled*'
Enabling debug mode is important as most commands cant be done unless debug is enabled.

In-game Commands:

In-game commands must be entered in chat by using the j,k or l keys, NOT in console.

Now that you're logged in and in debug mode you can use the spawner commands.

Its important that you DO NOT spawn anything that isn't in the map you are currently playing as it will crash the game.
Ex: spawning a PLA tank on kashan will crash the game.

rcon prbot - 6 axis of movement (brackets are suggested keys):
throttle (W/S) - forwards/backwards
yaw (A/D) - rotate left/right
pitch (Mouse up/down) - pitch up/down
roll (Mouse left/right) - roll left/right
sprint/crouch (left shift/left ctrl) - move up/down
mouse look/flare (z/x) - strafe left/right
alt sprint (double-tap w) - speed boost
alt fire (right click) - zoom
weapon 1 - hud (fire to get moving)
weapon 2 - no hud (fire to get moving)

rcon prbot2 - steadycam (brackets are suggested keys):
throttle (W/S) - move north/south
yaw (A/D) - move west/east
sprint/crouch (left shift/left ctrl) - move up/down
mouse look (mouse) - move camera
alt fire (right click) - zoom
weapon 1 - hud (fire to get moving)
weapon 2 - no hud (fire to get moving)
weapon 3 - speed boost (fire to go fast)

For example if I wanted to spawn a IDF logistics truck, the command would be:

rcon spawner idf_trk_logistics

Just a quick real noob question.

Is there a training mode that can be hosted as a local server?

Having to wait 20 minutes everytime I crash that jet is a major let-down.

doop-de-doop, create yourself a local server, which is a server run from your own computer. Then use the guide I just posted on this thread to spawn any vehicle/kit you want. Keep in mind that if the vehicle does not naturally spawn on that map you will crash the game by trying to spawn it, so be careful!

I believe they mentioned above how to use RCON commands to spawn assets. RCON spawning is the easiest way to make your own training mission. The only limitation is that you can't spawn assets that aren't on the map you've loaded without crashing it. So the easiest thing to do is pick a faction who's assets you want to train with and load their big *** AAS 64 map (like for Brits and Chinese load up Qinling).

The other option is to have someone make you a training map that includes all faction assets in one massive runway base with them on a very very short respawn timer. I recall Wicca made one on his Karez map that I acquired for training during TART.

'[USF wrote:Doc.Pock;1789620']xfire is just a IM program most of us here use to communicate outside forums
I must grab this opportunity to plug the PR IRC channel to this thread, hopefully to get some more chatters there. IRC is a great alternative for Xfire and others like it to communicate with members of the community, ask questions and help for troubleshooting (much faster response than on the forums, generally) and getting gaming company, maybe even a little teaser from the Devs once in a while - all you need to do is to be connected to the channel. (A dedicated IRC client helps, but you can as well use web browser clients - they're an easy start at least) Main difference to Xfire for example is that you don't need to know anyone previously, add them to a friends list etc. to talk, at least on public channels.

For all you possibly joining, don't give up and leave if you don't get a response immediately, most people on the channel aren't on a 24/7 stand by! Usually you get a response eventually, it might even lead to long and interesting conversations between two or more like minded people. And when you join, you might as well stay so we can has more active people!

Btw, I'm not in any other way affiliated to the channel that I'm one of the regulars there and it pains me to see such a great tool being used far too little by the community.

like it says in this thread it might not work if you havent done this first...

1. Check your realityconfig_local.py, in Battlefield 2/mods/pr/python/game and make sure the line C['PRDEBUG_ALL'] = 1 has a 1, which will enable debug mode on your local server.

in my case it was set to 0 and i had to change it... dont worry it wont effect punkbuster so you can leave it on=1

-Watch some youtube videos
-Try out what you saw in local deployment
-Just play.

People are generally pretty cool with new players, as long as you want to learn. Join the squad of the asset you wish to learn and tell the SL you're new to the asset.

I used to ride in the .50cal in tanks when I was still learning. Being there and seeing how the squad works is something only experience can give you. And make sure to expose yourself to every part of the asset, drive, gun, command. It's important to know all the roles and limitations.
