Why put in new game modes if they wont be played?

There are 2 game modes almost never played in pr. Vehicle warfare, and command and control. Not sure why they are not played often. Admins usually only put the same 2 game modes up to vote for.

So I ask again. Why should the devs work on more game modes when there are still servers that play 24/7 ins. Or play a single fing map all the damn time.


I rather have the devs work on maps and factions. The 4 game modes we have now are fine.

Command and conquer is played on VBIOS server.

i know that might sound ridiculous, but did anyone try to contact "Athene"? that guy is pretty big on youtube and he gives shoutouts to channels and communities...maybe when v1.0 is released, ill try to contact him and try to make it look official and not another Cod channel or something...but thats not 100% probably like 20%

Vehicle Warfare is pretty shit in my opinion. If you enjoy fighting other tanks I guess it's the game mode for you, but being in a piece of armor without having any infantry to piss on is pretty boring.

Command and Control is a game mode that requires coordination and teamwork, which you can't expect every server to have. I've played some really good rounds of Command and Control, but it doesn't work at all without two good teams.

Ofcourse it will bring in new people. Deviation is suppsedly getting lowered, in will come the codnoobs. (Not that its a bad thing, deviation change that is)

People will definitely come back and more new ones will come in, as always. However, if this really isnt some major gamebreaking patch, i can see the numbers dwindling fast, like FH2.

I agree with you for VW, but its still fun once in a while.

But see when people ask for something like VIP or something it sounds like it needs a lot of teamwork, kind of like C&C. So in my opinion those new cool game modes people are asking for will just end up like C&C. Cool idea but shit in a public environment, thus never really played.

I'm still playing and I still come here on a regular basis

I will definitely be spreading the word wherever I tread. Word of mouth is probably the biggest influence on people who wish to try a new game/mod.

I think it's more about game balance than gamemode. Gamemode is not important, chess have 1 main gamemode, yet the balance is quite nice in chess. That makes them really good in terms of gameplay imo.

On the end of the setup file, it should tell the person installing links for how to play the game on videos, join Co-op and Training Server before playing Multiplayer.

Of-course this can be a community project, to get videos for the basics like:
-Deviation, Infantry Basics
-Mortar
-Squad Managing, Basic SL essentials
-Spotting
-Deploying a Crate, FOB, Building
-Tanks
-APCs
-Piloting
-Basic Server Rules
-Other Tips like Scoped Medic Rifle, but nothing like tactics because what's the fun if the player doesn't figure it out.

It's hard to find videos on all of that in one channel since you have to know what you are after, and if you aren't sure you get frustrated and try to figure it out all by yourself. The Manual is still a good idea to compliment the video.

So the player can get use to the gameplay from other shooters and can join a server without wasting assets.

The community can make a channel, upload videos and send the link to one of the devs to put in setup.

I'll try to spread the word too online, in a non-annoying way. Just saying "Can't wait for PR 1.0 to come out " on PR Youtube Videos.

The people sell PR. the types of characters within PR is what makes it diversely unique.
That's why gameplay videos on YouTube attract a large volume of people, if anything I would encourage
More people to make gameplay videos that contain intense levels of teamwork to draw new players in.
I've heard from many a folk that they found PR solely on YouTube and came across it by chance without even playing

I feel if you over publicise PR it will attract the wrong type of PR player and before you know it we could have a cod epidemic on our hands which would serve to its demise a lot swifter than the lack of new game modes. What people need to do is strive for better more realistic engaging gameplay, this is what keeps people around and coming back for more.

My main point of this topic was not about why people come to play, but how they will know there is a new version to play if they stop playing and going to pr site.

It seems word of mouth through clans is a popular way of finding out about it.

For me ill just have to keep on checking the site every few weeks to know if its out. or ill never know.

MY point is, PRA2 should be the one to attract ppl back and more ppl to join in PR world but it failed.

PRA2 devs have forgotten the purpose and what the community really want.

It added a lot of new stuff but changed the sense of game play and make a huge gap for non-ARMA PR player.

Why the community needs a new engine. We just need a new engine to fulfill those unmet hardcoded needs such as rope droping from Blackhawk. Not playing ARMA simplily with PR rule.
