i had SO much fun being commander. i was a medic and would find cover, have a group of people go with me to take over a base throw out the UAV so they didnt even sweat us. i really enjoy the new points system, although the TKing minus points are SO high.

a few games later i joined a squad... wow talk about teamwork! we had a medic, support, assualt, and i was anti-tank. we would run our was from flag to flag taking them over without too much of a problem.

I really enjoy the "forgive" option.

i like how the new weapons feel.

the iron sights need some work, i like there to be an animation and a "3Dness" to them. These iron sights are very flat. Check out the ones in POE 4.2 (you can go to their website to see a video).

I'm having SO much fun with this demo! This will definatly hold me over until the actual game comes out, and that along with the ranked server will hold me over until this mod comes out

well, im pretty impressed. gameplay's good, vehicles are pretty solid, obviously there can be improvements but overall its not bad for a demo.

pretty upset about the account business though, wish theyd made it so your account and ingame name are different things... oh well ill get over it.

For the final release, account & nickname may be seperated, who knows :)

Went online again and really enjoyed it for 4 hours.. :) Found a good full 64 player (multiplay.co.uk I think it was) server with 3 or so complete squads up, joined one as a medic and found out I was a bullet magnet.. ;)
Unfortunately, at 4am, I capped a flag with a couple of team mates, but became a bit disorientated, went tag blind and scored 4 or so TKs in a minute or two, getting auto kicked... damn shame not had one all night and buggered up, should've left earlier.. :( Wish someone in the team just typed "STOP!!!"
The game really does encourage teamplay, the team with the most squads working together and a good commander won every time. It doesn't even need much communication, just a squad objective and sticking together works, for the time being at least.
The only thing I didn't really like was the number of rounds it seems to take to kill a person. When blasting away it does make sense to make sure you have a support dude in the squad to rearm you.
The helos are great also, but you are vulnerable to ground fire and jet interception, but with a good crew and fighter support they can be devastating.

I'm very pleased with the gameplay. Sound is great, though I do get wierd anomalies from time to time with the graphics (some stuff just turns solid black and stays that way). If anyone is interested to see what nitpicks I've come up with so far, have a look, and feel free to add to the list and such in this thread: http://realitymod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1246

im a little confused about the commander part of this game, from screens ive seen it gave me the impression that you got an above view of the battlefield, so im guessing you do, but how do you get into that view? or is it possible in the demo?

Yep, just hit the caps lock key and use your mousewheel on the map to change the zoom level. There are few things that can compare to watching arty rain down from a birds eye view and seeing the infantry scatter/get thrown 50' into the air.

My findings are that Project Reality is going to have to make quite a few changes to this game, and when those changes are made, it's going to rock. Until then, we're going to have to live with the fact that we need to pump thousands of bullets into people to kill them, and other such things.

Still a good glimpse of what BF2 is going to have to offer once it comes out, though. Just get ready for PR's release, because things will get even better.

I tell you something that should raelly be changed.

When you get into a cockpit you instantly tund into a pilot, with the mask a geforce suit. what i want to know is why dont you still have that all on after you exit the plane, or crash what ever you fancy.....

If you where on a mission to pick up a down pilot you wouldnt see some random in aussalt cloth´s he WOuld be a in a pilot uniform.

I't would be rather entertining to see a pilot on the battlefield.

maybe something for the pR team to think about.

Its rocks!

As a pilot/tanker i have to say that i really enoy the demo! the flares works and the smoke screen is the best ever. pop smoke, retreat and emerge in a new fire position is priceless! :D

I cannot wait for the full version.!

since when do you have to empty a quarter of your machine gun rounds to bring down a guy from 20 yards? or 3 feet for that matter?

Yeah. Almost no one I see uses the RPK-74 or M249 because they're so horrible.

No recoil, just spread, oh the beauty of the m249 :/

It's quite usefull when you're on a roof, for covering your teammates.

only when the other team is new enough to the demo to realize that the machine gunner might as well be shooting blanks :P

The BH minigun makes up for it though :)

Its really powerfull, that BH minigun, especially when you have a good pilot and play on a 32 players map.

I'm not pleased with the model hitboxes... it's a major gripe for me. I don't like having to hit a running enemy 5 times at 50 yards with the M4 to get a kill. Especially if those hits are in or around the chest. I know without a doubt that if you get nailed by a couple of rounds from the M4, you're not exactly going to break off in a full sprint, skip over a bush, and force me to chase you.

The BH minigun is hilarious at close range. Buzzzzz. The most scary and lethal of all is the artillery... good heavens. Everyone scatters and runs like little school girls (me included) when they hear whistles coming from the sky.

The medic class is not for me, I realized. I found myself perturbed by people constantly calling for a medic, and having to run out into the open where the idiot got shot, try to revive him only to get killed myself. Reminds me of an old Bill Cosby bit where he talks about being a Marine medic, himself. A platoon mate saw a friend get killed and ran out into the open like Rambo and was shot though the stomach. He screams: "MEEEEEDIC!" And Cosby replies: "WHAT?!"

Too many needy people on the battlefield for me to be a medic.

I'm not a ballistics expert, but I imagine it should take more than a couple rounds to bring down an infantryman wearing kevlar body armor, which they do in BF2. So I'm not so sure it's all that unrealistic myself. I dunno, maybe I'm just liking the game too much at this point and too willing to give DICE a pass for this one... I do agree on the inaccuracy problem, that's a major pain, especially w/ the smg's & the squad mg's (m249, rpk, etc).

I like how it takes 3 92FS shots to the head though, not much of realistic ballistics there :)
