As I said in an earlier post, you could (if possible) add a freezing effect on the sides of the screen :) Of course, it doesn't add too much to the gameplay, but it's cool =)

What ship will you be using for the Russians invading CFS Alert ? The Kuznetsov ? =D

If you can make some statics to replicate snow banks, or even create snow banks in the editor. but that's difficult that it gives people some places to hide.

@zombie-yellow AFAIK the effect on the screen is not a map related thing. In other words, it is done through the game's python coding rather than the map. However I could be wrong. If that's the case, however, you won't be able to apply that effect.

Is it complicated to make statics ? Or it's "just" a 3D model that you throw in the map ? (obviously not that simple, but something like that).

I can model things with Blender and Maya, but if it comes to code in Python, forget me ! I can make a fake BSOD in Basic with the Command Prompt and that's all xD

So this is my basic layout, will probably change, the main thing is that it is a 2km so itll be tight so lots of fun infantry going on.

The settlement on there is not done, just wanted to see where it would put it, and terrain still needs work. Surrounding terrain is about done.

Think 2km will be big enough? Anyway thats it atm still working on it though 8-)

I think 4km would be more suitable. Also, the closest settlement from CFS Alert is Grise Fiord at 800km south ^^

Instead of making it a settlement may I suggest making it an abandoned cold war military base? Barracks and what not could be the older buildings

Maybe 1 x lav

Tanks arent realistic as its a out post but maybe a apc if there was an invasion. More vehicles would be nice but I dont think it would be realistic again as its an outpost and they wouldnt have such an arsenal.

Russia
1-2 x Mi18
1-2 x Ribs
1-2 apc

I haven't put great detail of thought into assets yet so any advice would be great!

I don't think we have Chinooks up there... Maybe Griffons ? Also, I wouldn't put an APC, but rather more stationary defenses by default for Canada, as they're defending.

Also, it would be nice if you could add some CC-130 statics on the parking spots of the airport, cuz' some are stationed in CFS Alert :D

A herc would be awesome... but there isn't any. Also there isnt a griffon for the CF in PR (at least I don't see any in the vehicles list in the PR folder)

BUT defenses I think are a good idea

EDIT: is it possible to use the US Huey and retexture it to a CF Griffon since they are pretty close?
