It goes without saying that it would take much less time then if four different artist made these four weapons separately.
Its not so much the models are inaccurate, that's only a minor detail although proportions on some parts like the mag are WAAAY off.

The biggest problem is all the UV and modelling errors on them, as well as them being pretty low detail.

Ironically these FN FAL models where originally made for the old Brazilian Armed Forces Faction :p

Also in other news, I am currently working on finishing the export of the Zhi-9/Panther series, which includes the Brazilian HM-1 Pantera since it isn't that much more work for me to finish that one off with the rest of them :p

I suspected the "brrif_fal" on the files.

I have one question for Rhino . . .
Would these old FALs remain in 1.0 ?

They must stay, since the FARC will use it.

It'd be nice to see this faction revived but for the moment i think its more a priority for factions like african resistance fighters and black water to be added. Both these factions add more then just guns they add new gamemode and add new and exciting parts of the world to kill each other in.

So South America isn't an interesting place?

Until we have a new model to replace them with, they will remain in PR since we need a FN FAL, if not for an Insurgent etc weapon like in current PR, for PR:F as that 100% relies on them for both sides :p

Since the faction wont be released in 1 day, probably if I decide to request Kaland to make a FAL, it'll have no use for the BAF since it will be released when the IA-2 will be already officially adopted, is that hard to understand? I'll be basically telling a guy to make a rifle that wont be used by the BAF anymore when the faction will be released, simple.

Equipping small army with new rifle and replacing old one is long
long long process, and we are here talking about Brazil !
Brazil which have enormous army by its size.
I think that you would rather like to see this rifle because of aesthetic reasons,
and because you don't want to see your country with something that you have
proven to think is obsolete, but aren't this mod about realism ?
Or is it slowly becoming something about potential near future realism ?
Is it FAL really so obsolete because of its age ? I don't think so,
it is maybe not so compact nor high tech, but it still gets the job done pretty well
due to its power, accuracy and reliability and is also not so hard to handle.
I don't think that every potential upcoming faction should use prototype rifle
because its devs feel inferior because IDF uses TAVOR or Germans G36.
And also FALs and their carbine variants made for Brazilian Faction in PR earlier
looked really good with all those accessories and bayonets.

If he would be able to do new FALs I don't think that only Brazilian Faction would benefit,
but whole PR,Rhino stated dozen of times that they need few new FAL variations.
Potential BAF would benefit, potential AU,old UK,old Argentina, and there would be
few of them used probably for Militia or Insurgent kits.
Of course,Kaland have his own life and he is not robot which is just siting waiting
to someone tell him to spend hours, maybe days to make something for free.

-----------------

That were my few words,
I probably sounded really stubborn with this above,
but with reason.Although I'm not so much into what is going on
at Brazilian Military at this moment,I'm pretty sure how rifle phasing
process work in countries which are not putting growth of their war-machine
in first place because they have other more important goals.

No offence to Kaland intended but going by his work on the FM FAL scope, he isn't ready yet to make an entire handheld weapon series.

Also wouldn't refer to the Brazilian Armed Forces as "BAF", as that's also commonly known as the "British Armed Forces", mainly thanks to BI, as well as many other military forces too: BAF - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He is only making the IA-2 Rifle and Carbine variants, without scope or GL, only the gun, also he don't need to do it hasty.

Well mates, Kaland have done a nice work so far on the IA-2, although he needed to focus on RL things and is focusing now on other tasks, as told by himself and I think the same as well as many others "the Brazilians are most likely far from being in game".

But this is not a reason to stand back, WE NEED YOUR HELP, anyone that wishes to join us just contact me by PM.

Remember that the goal also includes making the FARC, so if anyone wishes to re-do the FAL rifles, will be very welcome, since it'll be needed, not only for the FARC, but also for other factions.

Well I just tried modeling and all I've got to say is that my large amount of respect for the Devs has increased ten-fold.

Rhino, did you get any news from Kaland lately? I don't see him a few months now.

However, a friend that have done a thing for PN, is doing the IA-2 Carbine model.

As for people complaining about not having the FAL, don't worry, check the Design Plan.

As I saw in some Devcasts, the Devs are focusing on having a realistic gear for all the teams, so I'll do the same here.

The Brazilian Army doesn't use much scoped weapons, as they are pretty useless at jungles in which you can normally see 50 meters in front of you before being blocked by the trees, so the long range weapon (which would be the scoped IA-2), will now be the FN FAL.

However, as Rhino said before, there are some problems, so we need someone to fix that, if he didn't find someone to do it yet.

People will complain about only the Officer and Marksman having scope as a standard infantry unit. I seriously don't care, people will need to get used to suppressive fire and flanking maneuvers, specially if we get maps against other conventional factions.

I haven't heard anything from him in a long time and he hasn't been on the forums in a month looking at his profile.

Nope, they still need fixing and no one has jumped on it yet.
