It seemed like FH2 got it to work pretty well, or at least I never had any issues when I played FH2 a bunch (As far as the throwing down a tripod mounted mg)

Try it in a tight corner in FH2, like say a destroyed building with rubbles all over the place, it will be standing either in mid-air or like this

MG42s were never used with a scope outside of a tripod. AFAIK the only scoped lmgs in ww2 were the Japanese Type 96 and the German FG42, which was more of a battle rifle really.

The M1 rifle confuses me in theory it's a m14 but with a smaller muzzle brake only semi-automatic and 8 round mag but the sights look entirely different.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, the M1 Garand is a real life well known rifle, it's the father of the M14.

True. But they were used extensively even w/ front line troops early on in the war (IE. the pacific). Particularly Marines used them but do not forget The Army. Things wern't so cut and dry as marines in pacific and army in europe exclusively. Army soldiers defended The Phillipines and were in the Bataan death march which is one of, if not THE first fighting of the war for America (occuring a matter of hours after pearl harbor). They fielded springfields.

Is that the FG 42 and StG 44? The StG was in very limited use at the time under MP 43/44 and would be a good weapon for this racket, seeing as it set the name Assault Rifle

PR 1.0 will introduce a new kit the heavy MG kit, you can see that in the devcasts.

Heavy MG will be the MG42
AR will most likely be something else :)

That was what I was thinking. What about the MG-26(t)?

Weren't they rather prominent at the D-Day landings?

EDIT: Yeah AR should be MG34 with drum mag for sure. I guess you could balance this by giving the BAR a few extra mags? I still like the idea of the MG-26(t) though, such a cool weapon

We do have the MG36 indeed. It was much used during DDay, however it needs new anims, like really, cause the current ones are bad!

Actually the "MG 08/15" would have a good place for D-day along with the m34.

Germans don't need AR at all. I'm fine with a MG42 only, it makes faction more unique. Concentrate on the other things, like quality models for the already existing weapons or at least a scope for the german sniper...
FG42 is sure neat but you'll need a paratrooper faction for that.
Yeah AR should be MG34 with drum mag for sure.
Oh god, you are so wrong.
1) It maybe looks lighter but it's actually heavier than MG42.
2) It's inferior to MG42 in every possible way, that includes hip firing or firing without a bipod.
3) It's not a goddamn AR!

If you been attentive to the devcasts, we have to include an AR for the germans whether we like it or not. We have the weapon models and would be absurd not to use them to our benefit.

I haven't played PR:N for quite a while, so I'm pretty hazy on what the current kit loadouts are-- but would it work to use the StG 44 as the AR and the MG34/MG42 as MGs?

I think the amount of automatic weapons overall needs to be rebalanced or cut down. This is really what causes the frustration and inbalances in my opinion having a bolt action or semi auto rifle vs a MG or even the sub machine guns just is total imbalance each time. This would exclude distance shooting where a sub machine gun is at a disadvantage but closer engagements or medium engagements the sub is still superior. Machine guns are dominant no matter what at long range they own even moreso than a rifle could hope to. Because of the weapon balance often times having a gun like a thompson can be a unfair advantage in room clearing and random encounters because there is a lower percentage your opponent will have a automatic themselves in a typical encounter. Had alot of my best moments with a automatic weapon just ramboing killing enemy who are unfortunate souls with a semi or bolt rifle that stand little chancei'd never have otherwise with a semi or bolt action myself kicking *** just because of this inbalance.

Something to consider and look at.
