100 players if that.
Define dead.

this is not an official statement on behalf of the team, just a personal opinion:

I suggest any good teamplayer to support Tactical Gamer whenever they hold an event, join, do your best to improve the game, and make TG popular just as it used to be again.

I would say the biggest change I've noticed from .95 to present would be how they implemented mumble and standardized it almost. Like was said earlier though, you'd be lucky to get a few good rounds a week in with good team work.

I play CIA quite a bit at all hours of the day throughout the week, it's usually full. They use map vote too and have a good range of map types. I live in America and still play the European servers as well, they are much fun too. The community is strong and with the release of 1.0 and PR2 on the horizon, it will only grow stronger.

I have only been playing since .85, and I may stray to a different game every once in a while, but I always find myself right back to PR.

dead?

not really dead but certainly not popular anymore. depending on your place in the world a couple servers stay somewhat active 24/7. if you pull up the server list cia, hog and nwa(?) are the only 3 that fill up at certain times of the day. a couple latino servers hold a small crowd but unless you're bilingual you could have a hard time communicating, capeesh capisco.

what can be a drag is when you try to join and only two servers are active and are full ("64/64") you need to keep updating in hopes someone leaves.

over all, 90% dead, 10% alive in comparison to the days when it remained a "popular" fps game.

who knows, if/when 1.0 is released could bring it back to life?

may just be a glitch but while posting this I was curious and checked "prspy" which was giving me the below results, go figure..

Total Servers:
0
Total Players:
0

Welcome back, but just keep in mind that:

1- Deviation is as ridiculous as it gets.
2- As of 0.98 all helicopters are fu**ed, and will lose the engine before taking enough damage to start smoking.
3- we get maybe a 250 players peak in the weekends
4- Deviation is as ridiculous as it gets (yes, it's listed twice, it is that ridiculous.)
5- You can travel a parsec while crawling before 1.0 is released.

Aside from that, it's still pretty fun.

bahlye wrote:I do think its silly that people will spend their time trying to get a slot on a full server rather than make an effort to join and seed other servers.... however that takes effort  , this is the main reason there are only a few full servers at any given time.
it takes zero effort to click/join a server with 12-20 players in it. I have done so and while in the server with that few of a number I would give it ample time to gain more players but when it failed to populate I moved on and would join the populated servers where the game is more rewarding in a full server.

I don't know what server you are speaking of but the two(latinoamerica1)latino/brazil servers I was referring to seem to have a language barrier for me. since I am from north america and speak english and in a time zone where the only populated servers are hog and cia, I choose to refresh/update until I can get in one of those servers.

bottom line, pr is not a popular game presently and servers are sporadic in population depending on what time zone you're in.

however, when I am able to get in to a server of choice, I still have and make the best of my time in them as pr to me, although not as popular as it once was, remains as one of the best fps experiences out there.

On the weekends I see 400-500 people easily. Not sure what time you get on & see 250.
