My opinion - "AK-47" should be given ONLY to NVA officers(well maybe some other classes too like specialist) becouse I don't feel inferiority at all while playing at the NVA side, the guns are too damn good. Give a rifleman PPSH-41/SKS and there will be a real choice - accuracy or firepower.
Right now almost nobody takes SKS becouse it's the same thing as AK but worse.
This is understandable but i think it's better to have a real dilemma between Standard and Alternative kits.
Right now it's great - if you want accuracy take AK74 if you want firepower take "AK47".
Great suggestion, but you forgot that the AK-47 was the icon of the Vietnam war. It would only make sense for rifleman to carry the AK-47. BTW, the PPSH is much more effective in PR than the AK-47 on almost all aspects. It wouldn't make much sense for the Officer to have a worse weapon.
I realize that the AK-74/AK-47 choice is great right now, but it's not realistic. It would make more sense if only the Taliban rifleman had access to it, as many were left behind following the Soviet-Afghan war, but it wouldn't make sense for AK-74 riles to be widespread across Iraq.
Compare how many AK47, AKM, and AK74 rifles were made (Wikipedia)
AK-47 - ≈ 75 million AK-47s
AKM - More than 10,278,300
AK-74 - 5,000,000 +

Before the inevitable lock happens. I would like to comment on the weapons used in the videos. The M240 is form 1.0 as well as that PKP, so somehow he has 1.0 files right?
And that AKM is pretty damn nice. Would love to have that model in PR.

PKP is from BFP4F and Arma 2. He said that in the comments.
But about M240 I dunno, I guess he is a beta-tester, or he was a beta-tester in the past.

There is no M240 in Falklands mini-mod, only FN MAG. Maybe he modified it himself so it would look like M240 thou.

that's my guess yes. only a texture change an a picatinny rail and you have a m240 I think no?

I'm sorry to disappoint but this just seems all mods scrambled together.

Militia have the AK-47 in the std LAT kit.

AFIAK, the RPK-74, Type 56, and AKM on his channel seem genuine enough to pass off as a Dev product.

Just a relevant note, but it seems like one of the Devs, [R-Dev]K4on has commented on one of his videos two months beforehand.

Thats what I was thinking as well, as the RPK looks very similar to the AK-74 in game.
Again, I do believe there is something more than is being said.

Doesn't mean anything, anyways Chuc already said he's not a dev and he's not, don't get why I have to reiterate that. Most of his models are from BF P4F, and from other games. This showcase is from his personal mod.

Of course, of course. Either way, they are some nice models.

Even if these models aren't made by the Devs themselves, have they ever thought about asking to implement some of these models? They look great and could possibly fill many of the existing gaps and replace existing place holders.

No because they're from different games.

Well, not the ones that are copyrighted, but what about the ones that are based off of PR weapons? Such as the RPK-74, Type 56, AKM, and UZI?

The only good game I recall that has developer specifically allowing usage of ingame assets in mods, is Stalker series.
And their models are not that great...
