Cpl.mathew, you should also rename your \Documents\Battlefield 2\ directory to \Documents\Battlefield 2 Backup\ and then start regular BF2. Then follow the directions in the post above this one.

Another thing is,since i reinstalled everything i got rid of the BF2 process unable to open problem,But now i have the black screen then nothing happends problem.And i have Windows 7 Home Premium. The black screen thingy accours on both BF2 and PR. So i can't go on the menu and fix the resolution and stuff. I have no idea what to do,Should i give up?

Please follow these directions, it is 100% certain to fix the problem:

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Dont just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you dont omit quotation marks or it wont work.
If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.

Please post the error message.

This is the error i get when i run it in windowed,but when i run it in fullscreen there is just a black screen then it pops me back to desktop.

I don't even get a message pop up telling me what is wrong, mine just says BF2.exe has stopped working. Even after doing exactly everything suggested in this thread, to no avail things have not changed.

DevilsMercenary you need to start your own thread. You might have the same symptom as the OP, but not necessarily the same problem. Your concern is getting lost and jumbled up with the OPs issue.

LITOralis,I'm sorry but i don't understand what i should name Battlefield 2 Backup. I mean does changing the name of it make it start or am i just missing something? Really sorry but i am not good at computers!

Basically he wants you to delete the folder.
Then start regular bf2 and set up your video settings.
This will recreate the folder you just deleted.

But by renaming the folder you save it just in case it is needed.
This folder :

C:\Users\INSERTUSER\Documents\Battlefield 2

One of you is saying rename,the other says delete which one should i do? And btw i have it all on my (C) file now.

rename it.

The folder is in your Documents folder. Same place you keep letters, book reports.. etc.

Okay,I've done it. But is there like a sign or something that tells me it worked? So i know that i did the right thing? And when you say start regular BF2,is there an unregular one?

Regular BF2, not Project Reality.
Start BF2
Adjust video resolution
Quit
Start Project Reality

If you would like to post a pic like mine above and we can verify that you changed the correct folder.

First of all,i have no idea how you post a photo like that. And what if i've done it and it still won't launch? And when you say regular BF2 you mean the one on the desktop,right?
And are you 100% sure that this will work or is it just like a quess? Anyway, i'll try and see if i've done it properly.

Screenshot-button on your keyboard "Print", then open "Paint" (program), paste the picture, save it and upload to for example to http://www.postimage.org

For some reason the picture thing doesn't work but thanks anyway.

I went in to my library and changed the Battlefield 2 folder's name to ''Battlefield 2 Backup''.

Then what it did was to create the exact same folder,but another copy of it just above it in the line,is that what it is supposed to do? I suppose so but just wanna make sure. And just tell me everything that i need to do,and how you do it because as you've seen i'm not the best at computers! :/

Actually,i now updated my videodrivers too and managed to get in BF2! I thinks it's finally working. I'll report back if any problems accour again!,Thank you! <3
