Yeah it needs a change or you should have the possibility to change the main menu music in the options - that'd be cool!

Guys the reason you might hate it is because you hear it over and over again. Anything repetitive will get irritating, I'm sure there will be a new one for 1.0

I have my music turned very low, mainly because the vanilla bf2 menu song got really annoying.

Yes, current one reeeeally cool, but who knows who will ever listen through the complete 1.0 soundtrack (7 minutes!!!) by just staying in the PR menu... -.- xD LOL

Is it possible for BF2 to randomly choose a start up song? We can have the old one, the current one, and a new one to randomly pick between.

PR 0.85 menu, I remember the AA Bradley shooting rockets and the A-10 flying :')

It rasps on my soul. Same thing happened with the BF2 menu music, and I still acknowledge it's awesomeness.

You can change the main menu music by navigating to the pr folder and into assets or any other archive, then replace the music with the same name with another one, or download an empty file with the same format, and replace it. Rename and backup the original first, like "mainmenubackup"

Step 1. Go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\

Step 2. Open up common_client.zip

Step 3. Navigate to Sound -> Menu -> music

Step 4. Make a backup of Alkali-Main_Menu.ogg on the pr folder. Replace Alkali-Main_Menu.ogg with something with the same name, and same format.

Step 5. Test it out

Wow, all of this sure brings back good old memories of playing PR. It makes me excited to get a hands on feel for PR 1.0.

It's not working that way. But when I change it to original Alkali-Main_Menu it works.

I just had to post in here. I'm a little suprised from what I have see on this thread about the music, I know who you are... kidding. There are mostly nice posts too, thank you . I have have written 3 menu musics but unfortunately the bf2 engine wont allow a random selection of songs to be played.

I can say this, the new menu music is noting like the older stuff (still haven't released the menu music yet). I have purposely made the songs shorter with different sections see it doesn't seem as repetitive. The new themes are more subtle and build up to something.

The problem is the starting part, doesnt matter how bad or nice the songs are. Repetition isnt the issue.
