Yeah, but dont you think everyone wants and deserves to try it? I was waiting so long to try things out, but apperently xp users had some issues with launcher. Now, as I can run PR, there is no servers, and it's getting late, almost midnight... So idk... Day went wrong

Okay, I read it again, the only difference this time is that I realized your English is fucking shit.

The only thing you would be "testing" on a Coop server alone would be the toys, and I'm sure the testers have taken care of that before we got to play it.

You should try to move a bit from computer. What exactly is so bad about playing around? That is exactly the way you will find errors. When you search for exact mistake in something it is less chance you will notice it then if you see it accidentaly for example when you are playing with it.
You are trying to conform DEVs and get them to like you. Please stop, you look silly.

Because a stress test is just that. A test of the server architecture. You've seen the games that didn't have stress tests have an aneurysm on day one launches, even the big boys at DICE and EA seem to have those ALL THE TIME. This is NOT the PR 1.0 release. The DEVs released this for us to HELP THEM TEST THE SERVERS. So that's what they want us to do.
Shit, they've been making this game for years and they could've just stuck up the proverbial middle finger and not included anybody. But lo and behold, they let people in and they're complaining about why they can't be given more, more and more. Our JOB here is to stress test the server. NOT to play around.
People seem to have forgotten what Alpha and Beta tests are. They're not just instances where you get to play the game early. They generally have some goal in mind and this particular goal is to test the servers and well, it looks like that was done pretty well.
Honestly, conforming to the Devs has nothing to do with being right. Deal with it.
And to be more frank, all egos aside, this is from Slick on the page describing the beta:
This Open BETA release is a crucial part of the development cycle and while we have a great team of dedicated testers that have tirelessly helped find countless bugs, we simply cannot properly test gameplay and other features that require a mass amount of players. It is important that we find and fix any problems before we release the final version and we are asking you, the community which has supported us for the past 8 years, for your help in making the PR:BF2 v1.0 the best release yet!
In essence, they now need mass players to help out. Not co-op players.

come on lets act like adults here people, stop this argument about nothing. keep it on topic , all we want to know is when could the servers be backup? or will they ever be back up?
and if it was just a stress test then why did they include 4 bloody maps and 5-6 different teams? i dont think they would pointlessly waste our internet like that.

Gents, please behave in a civilised manner.
SaXoni, it's good that you appreciate that we've done alot of hard work; but don't worry, we are all wearing our big boy pants and don't mind taking some crits and some discussion from members - particularly those interested in the PRSP dynamic.
Spirit03, I think the BETA was released without the COOP stuff to focus our bugfixing efforts at this time on MP and ensuring we get plenty of data regarding MP dynamics with our new features. Yes, you'll have to wait a bit longer to play COOP, however the huge amount of new COOP content will more than make up for it I assure you. We want 1.0 to be as perfect as possible, and streamlining our beta is the best way to do that.

Beta Testing:
Second level, external pilot-test of a product (usually a software) before commercial quantity production. At the beta test stage, the product has already passed through the first-level, internal pilot-test (alpha test) and glaring defects have been removed. But (since the product may still have some minor problems that require user participation) it is released to selected customers (this would be you) for testing under normal, everyday conditions of use to spot the remaining flaws.

So Rudd, or any DEV, when can we expect servers to be up? I hope I didn't dl 3GB worth of data for nothing...

Lol sax sucking up to the devs, lolololol. And the reason I think he said we should be glad you even got to touch it, is because: 1) There haven't been any releases in a while, and 2) Betas like this don't get tossed out that often, I only remember playing in a beta like this for a large release once, since 0.7, and I don't think it was planned for a whole week of updates and fixes.
It didn't "ruin" anyone's day, up until 16 hours ago all of you were just going to play 0.98, or not play, so just revert your schedule.

Some servers show up, with ping 0, and you cant connect to them, so my guess is thats not pr servers, maybe some other mod.

Nope, no servers up... why can't the DDOS'ed servers just restart? Are they being DDOS'ed right away?

To test performance on a large spectrum of various hardware? To find out if there are critical bugs in content which may lead to massive ctd/lag/freezes etc.? To check out how some new mechanics work on real pub server? To give people a cookie in exchange for all the troubles of a test?
Remember - it is a
test, the fact all these problems emerged is actually good, better now than on release.

hey mate, don't misunderstand me (not about to bash you) but for all I know this beta were only meant to stress-test the server, not the actual playability, well maybe, still we got the answer, the servers (or something) is not ready, constant lag and mumble issues, but that will most likely be fixed within a few hours or days.
