Mumble crashing causes it to loop.
WIndows XP
Creative Labs SB X-FI Audio and the on-board sound is disabled in Bios
Patched to 1.22
I have uninstalled/reinstalled and same issue.
Steps:
Start game, join a server
Mumble error comes up fairly quick:
You need to select at least one microphone and one speaker source to use ASIO. If you just need microphone sampling use DirectSound
Click Mumble icon and then either Configure or Audio Wizard
Mumble crash and restarts, then immediately same ASIO message,
Crash info.
AppName: prmumble.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.0 ModName: qtcore4.dll
ModVer: 4.8.2.0 Offset: 0002f480
If I keep trying sometimes I'm lucky and get the Audio Wizard to run, It is set as ASIO, I change both settings to Directsound and select the SB X-Fi Audio (my only selection)
I can also test the microphone - it works.
Once I Finish Mumble crashes and restarts itself and settings are not saved.
If I acknowledge the initial message then go back to game I can hear folks in mumble. All I really want to do is change the local/squad talk keys
At game start I have tried selecting Audio setting of X-FI or Hardware and same results (EAX on)
Thanks,
Guardian Bob
