It would commercialize just like any new game now. Ideas would be gone to dust and it'd be all about money.
"Call of Duty PR". The mother of all oxymorons. XD

I understand the part about mod team, and the Dev's making the game, because it's their drive, but this part is of concern to me:
To me, PR is this, it's PR 1.0 gameplay, and all the features that are BF2 and PR combined. I played PR:ArmA, it wasn't PR, it was ArmA with AAS, Buildiable Statics, and Proximity Voice where both sides can hear each other, with the name PR slapped on it, granted it was still in a very early stage, but point still stands. I guess it's the Philosophy of Use.
PR for ArmA was simply a very very simple early version. Compare PR 0.1 to PR:ArmA 2 0.1 to get a better idea.

I'd prefer Project Reality continue as it has, an outlet and proving ground for game development students, aspiring professionals, and dedicated hobbyists. And also a place where professionals (or at least people drawing a paycheck in game development and related fields like Cam/Cad and 3D design) can get their hands dirty developing something outside the scope of their job description.
On the top we have a pretty minimalist management layer, and an ever expanding library of assets and institutional know how that steadies the ship and allows for baton passing as contributors come and go as life takes them.
In short, Game Studios are looking AT Project Reality, for personnel we're a breeding ground of talent, for game play design we're uninhibited by Return on Investment (ROI) compromises in development cycles, for the realism FPS genre we're bleeding edge and one of the few groups around who can provide an alternative to BIS products.
As long as the Project Reality franchise can continue to invoke goodwill and inspire people with raw talent and determination to work in the gaming industry to throw their hat in with us and contribute, all is good in PR-land.
When you know guys interested in FPS and are attending Uni for Gaming Industry and 3D design degrees, or pros with jobs that don't let them pursue this fps genre, point them this way. It's ever more valuable than a cash donation.

Black Sand Studio (BSS) owns Project Reality, as well as some other Mods too.
Project Reality has current three team. One is this Battlefield 2 team, the other is the ArmA 3 team, and the "unofficial" [official] Cryengine 3 team (Officially, PR2 on CE3 is still not corfrimed).
^ What that means, if you didn't understand by retardedness[/U][/U][/U], is BSS is the Publisher (Like EA or Activision) and each idivisual team is a developer, with it's own goal set (Like DICE, Danger, or Infinity Ward, and Treyarch). This means that each PR version will play differently, and will be made by different people.
I also do believe they said that people working of PR:BF2 are currently not working or PR:CE3. This also means, that the goals of PR1, wont be the same as PR2. Maybe PR2 will go for more ArmA like realism, or something.
I dunno, just woke up, ask questions, I'll solve.
Perhaps have a cup of coffee before posting and calling people retarded...?

Had any devs been contacted from any major game developers for possible recruitment for the person to work for them?? Just wondering.

i believe litoralis is right on the money, PR is a gateway for many people into their gaming or computer related careers. PR will never be bought by DICE and asked to develop a PR just like 1.0 but with better graphics. the truth of it is that PR attracts a niche gaming community, there are alot of people who love PR and get hooked on it, but it wouldnt appeal to console and/or COD lovers, who want to play 20 mins of video games before leaving the house. just my 2 cents

i wasn't around during the early days of PR but i'm guessing thats what PR:Bf2 was like at first as well. just BF2 with a couple of changes in weapon deviation and damage values, eventually new textures, models, and eventually a new AAS mode etc to what we have now. i'll probably never play PR:Arma2 but for those who have and say it just isnt PR but arma with minor changes and the PR branding slapped on it, give it time.

As for the original topic, yeah, a few studios have been keeping an eye on us, and have congratulated us on our v1.0 release. That's about it
Thanks for the info. I still remember this from getting caught up in the April Fools joke. (and fell for it

Finally please be assured our main priority is and always will be to our Fantastic Community, we would never Jump Ship on you, and you can quote me on that
@ The Devs .... back to work now, there is a lot to do
Thank you
I would assume that individuals might get a job offer but that this mod continues on regardless. I would be surprised if no studios took notice of all the work. Mod of the year this year would be fantastic!
Q: Do you keep in contact with DICE developers to work out problems/issues or perhaps they have moved on to other things?

Game studios don't just make job offers. In most cases people go to them and show their portfolio, try to impress them, etc.

It's not just game studios, there are a few companies that make simulators for commercial aircraft and military who need to make terrain very similair to games.

lol, That's the true Chinese old saying!
But, It can not apply on PR.
I believe, Game studios like DICE had already look into PR few versions ago.
Guys, We should really donate PR community.
It's much better than lots of games on sale.
(Tried to do so, but failed coz of the freaking currency exchange,(Have to go to the bank and open that service) damn! But I will still donate once I arrived home!)
