After you install the Update 3,
you need to go to
control panel_Programs-Add or Remove Programs (in win XP)
or
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features (in win Vista/7/

find the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 in the Program list, and click the "REPAIR" button.
Repair the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 ,
REBOOT
start PR and game on.

We are not sure why this is occurring with the update 3, and it's way outside of our control.

none of this works for me, I still have the problem.

no go , so I uninstalled and reinstalled v1 now I cant even open that without getting this error. something bad is going on lol. I just don't know whats wrong.

Update, problem solved. A few week back when trying to get Battlefield 4 beta running I installed some visual c mega pack. This was the problem it was conflicting with the 2 versions that come with PR2, so i uninstalled it then done the fix in this thread all is now ok. Thx guys .

I have the same error.
Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) - 11.0.51106 is the only 2012 Version which is installed.

I have also tried to install the newest Version of C++ 2012 (Update 4) but PR also did not start.
Update 4 is removed now.

Always the same message:
Unable to detect required depandency:
Visual C++ 2012 Update 1 x64.

For your Information: The download link in the message box is dead.

i had resolve the problem, i have windows 8.1 pro.
-Disinstall all visal c++ ;
-Install MS visual c++ 2010 x86/x64 redistributable - 10.0.40219 ;
-install MS visual c++ 2012 redistributable (x64) - 11.0.51106 ;
-install MS visual c++ 2012 redistributable (x86) - 11.0.60610 ;
-Reboot ;
And launch pr.It begins to install latest version automatically. Sorry but my English cuold be not good.

I have tried absoulutley everything. Downloading the patches in certain orders, rebooting, trying again. The Mod is broken and unplayable, which is such a let down for me. I was so exited to play. someone please help

Did you install it, then run the installer again, the second time using 'repair'?

Yes. I have downloaded the patch and repaired it several times. I really want to play this mod, but this error is slowly crushing my hopes

I'm having the same problem, I have windows 8.1 64bit and installed the visual c + + 2012 x86 and x64 but it did not work, please is there any way to solve it??? I'm desperate to play!!

So I tried to reinstall a working PR in a attempt to fix some random performance issues that came up, and now I too have this problem.

How could the launcher work normally at first and then say that im missing a program when I reinstall it?

These technical issues just keep stacking up for me. Ive proboly spent about 3 hours total now on trying to get PR to work without any major flaws.

When people get this issue, they need to:

Download the correct file from Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download Center
You need the x86 version if you are on:
Windows XP
Windows XP x64
Windows Vista 32 bit
Windows 7 32 bit
Windows 8 32 bit
Windows 8.1 32 bit

You need the x64 version if you are on
Windows Vista 64 bit
Windows 7 64 bit
Windows 8 64 bit
Windows 8.1 64 bit

You then install it, then re-launch the installer and choose repair. A restart is unnecessary. Blame MSFT for the double install to fix the registry entries.

I got it to work with other means. If somone is having the same problem and none of the other fixes are working, it will help to try this -

Step 1. Uninstall Visual C++ 2012 off your computer, using the control panel so you can check if you have two versions of the same one. Other years can stay on
Step 2. Mount the PR game installer. This is downloadable off the PR website, hope you saved it from earlier
Step 3. Go to the Dependencies folder that is on the PR iso.
Step 4. Install the proper version of vcredist


Should work then.

Neither of the two methods worked, even installing from. Iso of the game or from the site, this problem happens only with those who have windons 8.1? Someone who has windons 8.1 could play without problems?

I have Win 7 x64
I just bought BF2 on a sale for this mod and Im trying everything so this mod to work for hours
none of the methods above have made a change it still asks for the update

I made it work untill the update of the mod finished
here is what I did I downloaded this Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable[32-64 bits] by Senzati (download torrent) - TPB[32-64_bits]_by_Senzati
then uninstalled all the visual c++ from 2012, installed the file that I need (64 bit or 32, in my case its 64 bit) then repaired it and it worked.
