Im sure this wont be of much help, but i figured id chime in anyway.
I was having the exact same issue on Windows 7. I had played PR about 8 hours ago and shut my pc off, then when i went to start PR up again after turning my computer back on i recieved this error. I hadnt changed anything but the display mode seemed to keep resetting itself even if i clicked the "save" button. After a few unsuccessful attempts to manually change the display mode and graphics settings, i decided to clear the shader cache and then clicked "reset all profiles".
Not exactly sure what "reset all profiles" did, but it didnt change any of my controls or much of anything for that matter, but it did change my display back to the default and it worked....
In order to clear the shader cache you must open up the PR launcher, go to Support>Utilities>clear shader cache and click on "perform task". After that i went into the options menu and clicked "reset all profiles".
Not sure how or why that worked for me but if anyone hasnt tried that, i would suggest doing so.
