Re: PR Map RIP Thread
There are a few more maps I'd like to see on this list......PR has grown a whole bunch and some levels that were "brought back" just bring the game back a step or two, not to mention those "fish in a barrel" scenarios on some INS maps.

Max 1 FOB and to fill a server its a great map.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:Na, that wasn't EJOD. That was Operation Archer and Ramiel.
I loved EJOD back in the day. Nowadays it would be way too small. If the city was made bigger it would be more interesting.
Or would you say that Assault on Mestia, Asad Kahl etc is less crowded on 100p?
I cant see the difference.
So the argument 100p is not correct, or you need to bring it on this maps also.
But then this maps have also no right to stay in PR.
Maybe that the quality of this maps are not the standard of PR-
But for me EJOD was a nice map.

Mestia and Asad are both 1km maps just like Ejod, yes, but Ejod's city was tiny and that's where all the action was.ChallengerCC wrote:Or would you say that Assault on Mestia, Asad Kahl etc is less crowded on 100p?
I cant see the difference.
100p being in the same 400 sq m of city would be insane.
Would be a cool skirmish map, though.

Honestly speaking, I'd trade all of the new maps in for the old one, not because the new maps aren't detailed or nice in terms of gameplay, on the contrary they have amazing levels of detail and loads of work put into them but they just don't convey "that" epic feel of a 7 Gates, Hills Of Hamyong, etc.
I rejoiced so much when they brought back OGT, hoping for more in ze future.

7 Gates and Hills Of Hamyong brings back many great memories. But im pretty sure its a good thing they stay as memories, as i dont think those maps would still be awesome if i played them today.Brainlaag wrote:Honestly speaking, I'd trade all of the new maps in for the old one, not because the new maps aren't detailed or nice in terms of gameplay, on the contrary they have amazing levels of detail and loads of work put into them but they just don't convey "that" epic feel of a 7 Gates, Hills Of Hamyong, etc.

This +1. Memory is too subjective! How many posts have there been about how much better PR was back in 0.X? The fact is that if we played the older versions we would start to remember the shortcomings, but we tend to hold onto the good memories tighter then the bad ones.Gosu-Rizzle wrote:7 Gates and Hills Of Hamyong brings back many great memories. Oh on the contrary. Yes people tend to get lost in memories but I'd give anything just to be able to derp around in the LB on Muttrah with a HAT on one side and a AR on the other. THAT defined PR for me, it wasn't the realism, nor the so "appraised" teamwork that tends to fade away but the possibility to have incredible amounts of fun with complete strangers. This was and still is what made PR unique...for me at least.Murphy wrote:This +1. Memory is too subjective! How many posts have there been about how much better PR was back in 0.X? Edit: Can't say it's the maps/assets tho, it was the people, the community that used to be better.

Are there any maps with littlebirds still in them? I thought I saw one on Qwai recently. Is this not now possible with other trans choppers, like the blackhawk?Mikemonster wrote:Hah, HAT/AR littlebirds, I think when I started playing this was still possible! Hehehe

Little-bird transports are reintroduced into Ramiel and Korengal valley, and also Qwai as you mention in 1.0.Heskey wrote:Are there any maps with littlebirds still in them? I thought I saw one on Qwai recently. Is this not now possible with other trans choppers, like the blackhawk?

Man, thinking back to maps like Street, Muttrah v1, Road to Kyongan Ni..... the gameplay has changed drastically over the last versions.
Sometimes i do miss the smaller maps... Sunset City, Ejod Desert, Helmand

Re: PR Map RIP Thread
Something that came to my mind while looking back at all the old maps, it seems that since PR has turned to the more asset heavy maps, infantry game play has suffered greatly. Especially the quality of it. PR definitely needs more infantry oriented maps and layers, or better if I say, servers need to run those more often.
