I play on all high, however BF2's engine only uses about ~15% of my GPU at max load or usage for some reason.

All high. For some reason my FPS drops below 40 sometimes while my GPU usage is under 10%.

I used to have to play medium/low and it was so fustrating with the FPS drop. Now I do all High maxed out and it's so smooth. I hate it say but you have to bite the bullet and upgrade your rig.

All high and then some from NVIDIA control panel. Funny though, that while this rig can run even BF4 at ultra settings with three-digit fps, PR will still stutter if I push NVIDIA settings too high :)

Hi!

I'm playing all low on a laptop with the following specs:

Windows 8.1 64 bit OS
6 GB Ram
Amd 3410mx cpu (4x1.6ghz, could use on 2.1 ghz)
Amd 6750m gpu crossfire with a 6520g

Getting massive fps drops on urban maps, but lately in the woods as well (Dovre, Korengal)

With PR 0.98 everything was smooth and fine, where is the problem now?

Thank you for your help!

I've given up. This game has become a catch 22, high graphics=low lag=lots of crashes or low graphics=lots of lag= few crashes.

Everything low but texture settings at medium and view distance at 95%

Frequent fps drops at times and random crashes. The crashes get repetitive...

Well you really don't need an amazing graphics card. I don't ever get close to 100% card usage and I have a relatively low end 7870. The problem I'm finding is that the BF2 engine isn't properly threaded for 4 or 8 core CPU's. It tends to only run the first core 100% and then maybe like 25-50% of the second core.

This means that newer laptops with like a quad core CPU but with a slow multiplier like 2 or 2.5 Ghz the game will run very slowly because your CPU can't process the data fast enough to/from the video card. I bet if you were to monitor your graphics card usage while playing PR it won't even come close to 100% usage but a few of your CPU cores will.

That is why PR runs better on Lower end higher multiplier CPU's. For example I play on high and don't get any slowdowns but I have a 4.3Ghz FX quad core from AMD but it was a really cheap CPU i picked up for 90$.

I remember when the supression effect came, there was people who played with low grafics even they had super-duper-computers to get advantage (short or none supression effect).

I don't understand that. I use to play with everything low but due to my shitty computer my frame rates were berely 20 frame/sec. Now with new computer I'm finally able to play with everything high and the game looks AWESOME!!!!!

Most of my in-game Settings are on high, sorry if i am reviving an old thread, but i'd thought i'd put my two cents in. ;)

I also get 60-70FPS on those settings. :)

Pro Tip: You don't go "black and white" with SLI'd Nvidia cards. Not sure about a single card as I haven't bothered to try. But I remember a long time ago it was due to Nvidia drivers or something like that.
