Yes, it is third person view, but it should be a fixed path that is exactly the same on each replay.
" Create a "Demos" folder in the root of the game install folder. " I don't know where that should be in PR 1.0 , need help from someone who knows how the directory changes in PR 1.0 affect usage of battlerecorder.
Im no expert with Battlerecorder either but this is what i know:
-You can share BR files across mods if both mods feature same assets otherwise it will crash. This is similar to trying to load a wrong map.
-You can record camera tracks. I dont know how but there is a tool for that to make it easier:
The Sir. Community? - BattleDirector
No idea if this would work with 1.0/Launcher tho.
-The "Demos" folder is simply C:\GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\Demos and to view them they need to be in C:\Users\
\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\Default\demos (This is for Win7)

How about removing all the unnecessary effects and sounds? I'm sure that would improve the frame rate drastically.

Which proof do you have of this? I mean clearly it's not only the effects.(or at least not drastically as you describe, of course removing effects will help a little...) As people having trouble standing on a empty Fallujah map without players on it or any effects at all.
And unnecessary is also a strange word. What do you mean? removing them would totally kill a big part of the current immersion I personally get from PR. I think Anders and Bruno did a great job with them.
Anyway, except if you come with some proof, those kinds of statements mean nothing. Not to be the annoying guy, me too wants to fix these performance issues. But just making statements like that don't really help.

There were no FPS issues when people were using the soundmod. Remove the sounds and effects, add only what was used in the soundmod and I'm sure that will improve the frame rate.
The sounds and effects are not what makes this mod. The explosions look cool from distance, but at close range I don't like them at all. The sounds... meh, okay I guess, but nothing special in comparison to the soundmod. Half of the sounds don't even work properly. That is what I mean about unnecessary.

They did a great job making the sounds, but adding them to the mod? Far from it.

FPS (Fallujah 48, bots)
Facing SW from the ammo resupply station.
FPS Test 2 - High 80, dipped down to 48 (heard a lot of gunfire in the city)
Normal - High 75, dipped down to 51 (same)
Facing the city (NE) from the confines of the base.
FPS Test 2 - lowest 21, highest 26.7
Normal - 23-24.1, dipped down all the way to 15.1 (explosions, gunfire, heard one vehicle exploding in the city)
[/quote]
When 1.0 was released I screwed a round a little on Kozelsk - took a combat engineer kit and placed those IED's in between the vehicles that spawn in Militias main base, when the IED's exploded FPS dropped by around 60-70%.

You're not making much sense to me. There were no fps issues in 0.98 when you were using the soundmod, but with 1.0 there are... and so it's because of the sounds and we should revert what Anders did, so you can use the soundmod again and...... that should make all issues go away?
If you think you
do make sense, please provide some test results and I'd be happy to change my ideas

.
People even have issues when there are no sounds or effects playing at all, so there must be something greater here.

Where does it say that I've got issues with the frame rate? Nowhere, but I'm aware of the fact that a lot of people do.
Nor have I taken a shit on someone's work, I just said that the way it has been implemented to the mod has been poor. The work itself is amazing.
Also, I've got a top notch 2013 rig, so just shut it fuckface.

...it has been implemented to the mod has been poor...
Why do you keep saying that if after AfterDune's post:
People even have issues when there are no sounds or effects playing at all, so there must be something greater here.
Why would they give so much trouble if the solution would be just "unplug" the sound and effects?

Guys, keep it down. This doesn't help solve the fps issues.

I tested it on my laptop and I am very happy about the progress that was made by devs.
I got 40% more FPS on every map and I can again play on high settings. The performance is closer to 0.98 than to current 1.0 which is really great. And Fallujah is finally playable!
Keep up the good work guys.

Here are my results by simply starting a local server, in Skirmish Mode on Black Gold.
Result while running the custom version:
Results while running normal PR:
Conclusion: Seems to be no relevant difference between frame rates.
