Who spotted gt.Goldman in the british screen shot? :D

I find that friendly fire that DOESN'T kill you is worse that TKs cause you don't know if some enemy has flanked you or if it's just a n00b shooting you from behind!

I don't get mad on most of em, and I forgive... but sometimes it's just outright stupid. You stand there looking at a guy for a few sec.... he looks at you for a few sec, then he shoots you. HELLO!?! If I was the enemy, you'd be DEAD...

In all fairness to the nubs out there, PR does make it incredibly hard to distinguish friend from foe(not that its a bad thing). I do think people over-react to TKs sometimes but thats probably because being TKed in an intense firefight and then waiting 30+ seconds is one of the most frustrating things in the world.

agree with the 2 above posts. Theyl stand there looking, and its always kinda amusing when you come round a corner and stop face to face with a friendly, theres that 2 seconds of arghhhhhh........oh wait...... But then theres always some that pop you its like wtf.
Nevermind its not too bad. Good review though. Lol he said my map was laggy :( :p getting fixed though.

When regarding TKs

SOmetimes it is frustrating when you are a squad leader and someone TK you

But not frustrating enough to call the guy a noob or to kick vote

Kick vote should be only for intentional TKs

But sometimes being a squad leader you have to fire back at the friend who is shooting you

Other day i was on the roof of one house in the central flag of Kyongani with heavy AT being a respaw point for my squad

Then a guy not from my squad started shooting APCs rounds on my roof, all i could do was fire a Heavy AT on his apc and said sory =( then trowed my field kit and waited for a medic nearby

for god's sake don't turn this into another damn TK thread :( Fed up reading about how much TKing has an impact on people's lives. It's a GAME! :D

It, sadly, is an underlooked modification compared to big conversions such as Point of Existence, Desert Conflict or Forgotten Hope. However, if you need something new to try before any of those mods release
what? POE is the only vBF2 Mod that is working and that's just a big skin job turning the game into an armour/air whoring fest with musical chair flags

PR is THE mod and they better learn it fast.

I really love the guy that TKs like 3 seconds after you get the kit you just requested... makes me all warm and fuzzy....

It does make it pretty realistic though.. I was playing on fallujah.. the US had just broken through the gate, and it was mayhem at the next flag... US was TKing, MEC was TKing... people were everywhere comeing from every direction, and everyone was shooting everyone. Heh.. I got TKed like 3 times in about a minute and a half. I nearly broke my computer. :D

On a side note, those MODY or whatever awards that you guys want to vote for look like a big pee-pee... :D

I think the frustrating thing about the TK's is alot of newbies don't even realize what they are looking for in an enemy. Same with most mods. The new folks come in and think it's just a color/skin change and try to play vanilla. That doesn't go over well. Either they're driving off in an APC complaining it won't shoot or wondering how they can get the sniper kit that will make them 1337. Then they are 10ft. from you don't bother to check their minimap, just assume since you're not bowing at their feet before their leetness that you must be an enemy and waste you. It's not so much the TK's, but the attitude behind the TK's that bother me. People are not taking the time to learn the game. If you want to learn on the fly you need to be patient. I play alot of the Americas Army so the IFF thing was easy to pick up.

This mod is about teamwork. Sadly BF2 isn't. The awards and rankings made sure of that. People hear there are rankings for this and come looking to duplicate their "success" in BF2. They hear about hte amazing vehicles and want to prove they are the ultimate chopper pilot. The one thing I don't see, and I'm guilty too, is enough people direction the newbs to the wiki for instructions on how to play. It's pretty straightfoward and that's what they need instead of us venting on them.

'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']yes, he still thinks its still got the labile "mini-mod", but he thinks that it shouldn't be one when really, it aint :p
Well maybe he loaded the game and read where it says Mini Mod in the front end lol. If you don't want it to be labelled a mini mod then you should change the label in the game.

Here's a proposal: BE NICE TO NOOBS.

We must understand that this game is considerably more difficult than BF2. If we want to attract people, we'll have to awe them with our patience and grace as well as our tactical and teamwork abilities.

Don't yell at noobs who don't understand things, especially those actually trying to figure it out by asking. Just tell them.

The only people you should yell at are the deliberate TK'ers.

Sometimes giving a harsh reaction warrents more caution in their future fire.
Last night I was playing on the ECGN server and we were on a map where I was swimming to the checkpoint to sneak around behind them. One of my teammates, all the way from the coast behind me shot at me 10 different times before hitting me and killing me. I thought to myself 'oh **** i've been made' but when I died and saw the TK notification I followed with ripping him a new one... lightly. I mean, if you make a person feel bad about doing something.. most of the time they don't enjoy it, and will attempt to avoid it in the future much more avidly than someone who's still taking it lightly.

Good rule of thumb here is "just use your own judgement" and decide for yourself when a little tough love is too much, or too fitting.

That's my two cents but I definitely agree that we need to remember how sharp the learning curve is for this mod. It's so different from vanilla.. and especially with this new release.. that we'll have to constantly answer "where's the sniper kit" or "why can't i get in the big jet?" "why can't i fly the helicopter" and "how did that guy kill me in one shot?"

or my fav...

"which kit has the tear gas??"

=)
